Its really annoying to have a new thread merged with a 3 year old thread.
Thanks for the tips everyone.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

.
Glad it's not just me who finds this annoying - often the threads are then out of date as when someone says "Asda sell X for £1" it's then 4 years old.
Can there not be some kind of merging rule where threads are only merged if there are two of the same thread in the first 10 pages ?It's not paranoia if they really are after you.0 -
Grind them up in a food processor and use to coat fish (mackerel fillets are good) after dipping in flour and then egg.
I make HM muesli with them just adding dried fruit (raisins, apricots, prunes, dates) and seeds and berries.0 -

That would be better.
Its also annoying when youre browsing the forum and you come across pages of threads that have been moved/merged.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -
I bought the wrong kind of porridge the other day i wanted "Quick Porridge" so now that I'm not in a position to throw anything that's still edible out is there anything I can do with a box of Porridge Oats other than make them into a breakfast cereal?

You could always make
flapjacks
use a couple of big handfulls in curry, stew or casserole to bulk them out
Add to apple cake
Use as a topping on muffins
biscuits
These are just a few of the ways I use porrridge oats.. I'm sure thast there are many more.
Hope this helps

flapjacks, yum.
did this myself recently when i convinced myself that i would be healthy etc to then have the packet sit their for ages. i prefer the ready brek sort of porridge.
if not im sure you can incoprate it into a biscuit.0 -
The only difference between normal oats and the quick ones is that they need to be soaked and possibly cooked for a little longer. You could choose to combine the oats and water/milk in the evening and pop it in the fridge to be cooked in the morning. I doubt that it would take longer than about five minutes cooking-time and everyone has that even on a work-day, don't they?
In any case, the Twinks suggestion is a top-notch one under any and all circumstances. Beware! They are more addictive than crack-cocaine0
