Morning all

Been up since 6ish - done dishwasher, done laundry, made muffins...

Today I'm intend to go through cardmaking stuff and pull together a kit for Easter cards and a kit for Thank You cards so I can make them without having to drag everything out and (even worse) put it all away again as its all that faffing that's stopping me just getting on and making summat:cool:

Hope everyone has a good one today

Luc xxx

P.S. Lenny I hope you were saying nice things to Mrs Len about me...;)

  • hello Luc!

I am awake after a really odd night's sleep, had a dream we lived on a hill and people were sleeping on it. also dreamt my bedroom was decorated like a school nursery. all very very odd.

I am in a sorting mood today so as soon as I have had my cereal I will be in a box chucking stuff away!

    Happy card making Luc

Glad to see I'm not the only one awake at silly o'clock on a Sunday!!!

Strange dreams indeed - I've had some hair curlingly weird ones since being pregnant - some quite scary, all enough to make me question my sanity:rotfl:

Hoping to go for a wee walk later as its bright blue skies today:j

  • Hello Luc and Buffy,

I'm also awake at silly o'clock on a Sunday....and I'm also pregnant so definitely hear you about the crazy dreams (and now lack of sleep...) Only a few more weeks to go before little one arrives  . I'm looking for some projects for the next few weeks and haven't tried card making yet. How do you get started? Do you buy a kit from the store or get the inidividual supplies yourself? Sometimes the kits look quite expensive and not really worth it in the end....
Well, I'm off to eat some more HM bread and have a cuppa (decaf, of course  ) Happy card making! And happy box chucking buffy!

Hello. Kits can be a good way to get started. Try and get one that has plenty of bits in it - you'll always have more than you need to make the cards they provide...

Alternatively think of a batch of cards you might want to make (e.g. baby announcements or thank you cards might be useful to you in the next few weeks...) and get only the things you need to make those cards. Next time you have a project you'll have some basics to get you going (e.g. glue, ink pads) and will only need the extras for the specific project and so it grows.

Also, if people know you're interested in it they might buy you the odd thing to add to your collection which is a great way of getting things you maybe wouldn't have tried by yourself...
Be warned though - if you have any magpie tendencies you'll end up with a stash of goodies regardless of how disciplined you try to be...

  • Just watched david Suchet (sp?) on the Andrew Marr Show talking about his wife. Made me cry. He was so passionate and so clearly human.

    Morning all

Luc, I'm very envious of my mum, she's got a craft room so doesn't have to drag everything in and out everytime she wants to make something. I've not made any cards for ages now, am even considering selling my sizzix. I'm very much into patchwork at the mo - nothing fancy but using up some oddments....Hope you have a nice relaxing day.

We're off to the beach later, the sun's shining and the day looks fairly promising, picnic is made, car is packed with everything we need and as an after thought I checked the tide times.....hmm..high tide at 9.42am......think we'd better delay our departure for a few hours.

  • Morning. I can't post on my thread yet due to yesterdays hijacking and someone said I should come and say hello here.

Had a nice lie-in because I did the lions share of the cleaning yesterday to calm myself down while people wrecked my thread. I've already got the kids uniforms ready for tomorrow and I'll get their lunches done and in the fridge before I go to work from 1-8. It's 12 weeks tomorrow till I need to be bikini ready so I suppose better start losing that stone I gained over the last 12 months. Will also help save some cash by not having to buy bigger summer stuff. So, breakfast is juice and some fruit, Lunch is soup and I think a chicken and bacon salad for tea.
