The problem is that as soon as most people read a post like this, they automatically think that the OP is out for compensation, which (Quite rightly) annoys the hell out of alot of folk (Me included), but that obviously wasnt the case here. So this post proves that not everyone is motivated by money, but sometimes want to try and stop something similar (Or worse) happening again, and we shouldnt all just jump to the same conclusion. There are still some good people out there...

Sharkbait, Im glad your littl'un wasnt to badly hurt and that your grandparents pointed this out to the staff, as it is quite scary to think what could have happened. I hope she makes a full recovery soon.

Thank you for understanding where I am coming from, unlike certain other people. I hadn't realised that people were so judgemental, maybe I am too naive.

At 2 years old just about everything is dangerous.
Responsibility lies with the guardian .Imagine how many "accidents" could happen during something as simple as say a walk in the woods.
Take care of your own kids and yes even people who do take care will often find that they still get hurt or stick their fingers into holes they shouldn't ...Just be thankful you got away with nothing more than a bruise for this lesson

They are not all judgemental on MSE, there are a few who I assume have nothing better to do, their neighboors are not in so they can't spy and judge them so they come on MSE and pass judgement on them.

    Daily Mail anyone?

Teach her to be more careful or as a responsible parent pay more attention to your surroundings.

I am sure that it won't prove fatal.

    What?!!!!?!!!

What the outcome could have been? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I could have been run over yesterday, I could have been shot when I was in the Police, I could have been electrocuted when I made my coffee earlier...

Worry about what the outcome was, not what it could have been.

Thats a bit contradictory isnt it. How can you be a responsible parent and pay more attention to surroundings, if you dont concern yourself with what might have happened in a certain situation? Surely the whole point is that we learn from mistakes, because if we only think "Well, she only got a bruised eye, never mind", then we would never learn to stop something worse happening in the future.

Actually you answered your own post in your first post, Sharkbait.

    ACCIDENT in a retail store.

Sorry if my earlier posts sounded harsh or uncaring, and I am glad that your little one was not injured.

    Not contradictory at all.

Common sense prevails in all cases.

Thank you. I know it was an accident that's my point. I am not trying to apportion blame I am simply trying to make sure that the risk is reduced to the shops customers going forward.

Perhaps I should just thank my lucky stars that my daughter is ok and leave the battle to the next person.

And assume that every shop keeper is an idiot who has never considered that children would wonder around the premises :)

Erm... You cant just say my argument is wrong, and not back it up with any proof! I think I proved quite conclusively that you contradicted yourself.
