    ChatZilla
    CHM Reader
    Google Reader Notifier
Vimperator (definitely the most geeky one, makes Firefox act like the text editor Vim)
    Webmail Notifier

At work where I'm on Windows I also have IETab.

Nope, I use it for a different purpose. I use YesScript to stop sites or specific pages I go to regularly doing annoying things e.g. float over adverts etc. It's nothing to do with malicious code, it's to do with annoying code.

I've only ever been hit by malicious JavaScript once and that was my fault for using an old version of Firefox on a machine I don't use regularly (and even then I'm not absolutely sure it was the JavaScript, could have been something else). So many sites rely on it for legitimate purposes, I find it annoying to have it switched off by default. I'm sure people have their own horror stories, but I don't really see JavaScript as that much of a problem generally if you keep Firefox bang up to date. Never had a problem on my regular machine(s).

    I'll try and avoid that!

It was StumbleUpon (which I'm addicted to) that got me. Just clicked the Stumble button like a thousand times before and suddenly had one of those fake anti-virus programs installed that tries to extort money from you to remove a virus that doesn't exist. Drive-by download, is that the term? Moral of the story, keep your browser up to date

NoScript. If you're not using it, you may as well be using Internet Explorer.
British dictionary. A must for this forum.
Colorful tabs - because it looks nice..

Some call it drive by ~ I call it malicious scripting

  • TableTools (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2637)

This lets you sort and/or filter tables of data on webpages by their various column headings (as if they were in Excel). And talking of Excel, it copies the contents of such tables so you can easily paste them into Excel (you don't have to try and drag your mouse over the whole table, just one little right click within the table does it. And it doesn't paste over all the formatting).

I got one of those once that did a scan and told me my C drive was full of viruses and spyware, when I'd picked myself up off ther floor from laughing so much I closed it. I was on linux and didn't have a C drive!!!:rotfl: Well I thought it was funny!!
  • I actually hate everyone that uses NoScript. Makes web development much less fun as I have to cater for all you paranoid people. I have never once been hit by a malicious Javascript attack.

Firebug is by far the best add-on, great for web developers to edit code on the fly.
I also use Web Developer, IE Tab and have StumbleUpon and Whois installed but not used

  • Because we have to make site's degrade gracefully. If I make a Javascript menu, you can't use my site unless you have Javascript installed.
