  • Morwenna - so sorry to hear of your news. It sounds like it was quite a shock. I will remember you and yours in my prayers tonight.

Annie - I am about to dash off and see what I can on the i-player thingy - which is a leap into the unknown for me but you are definitely worth it.

I missed it because a blanket box lid fell on little bear's fingers, as I was dashing over to try and get to him. He is fine, but needed a very prolonged bedtime. My first thoughts were complete panic, but then I saw him clutching his teddy so I was reassured.

Well, we need to stop it happening again, so dear heart and I said that we could tie the lid down, but then we were worried about rope being in little bear's room. So we could move it, but the obvious place would be to move it to the next room where there is a pile of bedding, which I could put away if I could move the bed, which I could move if I got rid of a rickety cupboard, which I want to but it needs clearing and places finding for things... We decided that first thing (just after little bear wakes up) we will turn the blanket box upside down. After, of course, finding a place for the toys that have been stashed there because people have been very generous to little bear but often give toys that little bit too old which up til now we put in the blanket box. Which I didn't realise little bear could get into. But it would explain where the strange giraffe/cow cross stuffed toy came from.

You see - I do need help from the OS - and dear heart's car is full of bags of stuff to take to a charity shop already. I forsee a busy weekend, so I may not be able to post. But I shall be reading!

The chest was dear heart's grandmother's so I don't want to lose it. The cupboard is an old (and I mean old) tv cabinet converted by two unfinished planks of wood into a cupboard, circa 1970 by my late grandfather. It summons dust and I will not miss it at all.

Hugs to all, especially Morwenna and Sunnygirl.

    Hi guys,

A hugely late one from me tonight.

The pc is now fixed thanks to whatawit! :T :T :T You see what I mean about being technically challenged though.:o Doh!!! :o you can not log on from two areas using one screen name!!!! Anyway I now get lots of lovely emails from DS1 who thinks it's great to talk to mum this way. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

OS - my house is spotless (not for long!!!) washing up to date, Ironing ignored - again!:o and chicken pieces defrosting to throw in the SC tomorrow for a chicken casserole.

Plans for tomorrow - I will be going in to town as all of the kids need shoes, particularly DS2 who bad mum noticed had holes in them the other day.  , It's market day so I will get some minted lamb chops and a nice piece of pork for next week. I WILL do the ironing tomorrow and maybe finally the hall carpet. I have been meaning to do it for days but I - in my defence - have spent the last few days sorting out the photo albums and with the kids choosing piccies of their dad. These will be taken to the photo shop tomorrow to be blown up and framed. This is a job that I have put off for months and it has been a bit of a trial. There were loads of photos that needed putting in to the album and I have realised that I have taken none of the kids for well over a year.

I have realised something else too this week - I don't half feel my age, 3 kids is no joke. Eric will have hell to pay when I next meet up with him - how dare he leave me on my own with them. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Joking aside, welcome new posters, Annie I missed you!!!!!, great to hear from you Sybil and Moggins.

Gentle hugs to all in need.

    Smoky. xxxxx

I have been a lurker for the last few months, and you people have helped me through some difficult times without you knowing.

I came out of work in October and received my last paycheck that month. I still have not had a wage since then. Roll on Feb 28th my first payday of my new job.

Our family income has been down approx 1300 per month. AND WE HAVE NOT GONE INTO DEBT :-) even with christmas and three kids.

The only help we have had is I cashed in some share for £660 and my parents have lent us £650, which i will pay back over the next three months.

I have not received any state benefits or any other financial help, but thanks to your tips we have managed and its made us realise how much we spend that we dont need to.

Once again a big thankyou to each and every one of you, I am an oldstyle convert.:T
