I'd prefer to use 'real' porridge but as half of it has to be scraped off the floor of the micorwave it's just not practical. The sachet has chemical additives   to stop it boiling up.
So please please can you write another informative post telling me EXACTLY how to cook porridge for one person in the m-wave? The sachet is 28g and I use 160 ml of liquid so I guess the quantities would be about the same, but timing and power and size of container ..... ppppllllleeeaaasse.
Hi GN - I used to have the same problem with microwaving porridge, and just kept increasing the size of the bowl I used until it stopped happening. I usually cook two portions, and use quite a large pyrex dish! The ratio of oats to liquid is 2 1/2 liquid to 1 oats, and I used a teacup, but now that I have a set of measuring cups (courtesy of Marion) I use one of those. The liquid can be all water, or part water and part milk, depending on whether you want to use all or part of your HEa.

Hola!
Hi all - as you've probably guessed I've been doing a quick catch up on posts again. We were back in the UK for five days, and I didn't get chance to go on the 'net so I had a few emails to come back to.
We're moving on again tomorrow, to El Rocio, which is near Seville (or Sevilla as they call it here in Spain.) Not sure what the internet access will be like when we get there, so it may be sometime before I get another chance to read the thread.
Hope everyone is doing alright. My son and his girlfriend have just announced their engagement, the wedding is planned for next spring, so that will give me the incentive I need, to look good in the photo's.
See you all soon, I hope!
