    Morning everyone

I have gained 900g. Having said that I'm not feeling too bad about it. I was just looking at foodfocus and noticed a pattern. I am a two steps forward and one step back kinda girl. So although I weigh 900g more than I did last week. I'm still lighter than I was when I started my weightloss journey...and on top of that (as I keep saying:o) I am in my luteal phase and don't know what my body is doing at the moment ( I am four days overdue according to my usual and taking the mc into account. But Im feeling all full of pms). I was talking to DF earlier and he was saying he doesn't understand why women use PMS and TOTM as an excuse for weight fluctuation:rotfl:
Anyway, I sorted out the "cakehouse" last night so I want to get the office done so that I can do those new cupcakes today.
Hope everyone is having a weekend as wonderful as mine.

    Good morning!

Am happy to report a 1lb loss for this week. Am planning on cycling to work next week so hopefully that'll kick start my body a bit and will compensate for the alcohol I'll probably have next weekend. Of course if its raining...:o

Had a lovely day with a uni friend yesterday and she's given me loads of ideas on how I can make vegetables more interesting as she's an Indian vegetarian.

    Hey everyone

Had my restaurant lunch yesterday and according to the nutrition info on their website (which I suspect is more a guide than an exact amount) it came to 838 calories for a main course and dessert. As I'd looked it up beforehand I was able to 'budget' for my menu choices in my allowance, so thumbs up for that info being available :T

Granny - if I wanted something particular to eat that much, I would eat it and just attempt to keep it to a moderate portion. If it put me over my calorie allowance I'd up the intensity or duration of my next workout :)

BB, really sorry to hear things are stressy :( It's horrible when that happens. Glad you were able to get out for a walk and hopefully that gave you an escape from the problem(s) for a while? :)

Sary, you have worked really hard and definitely more than earned that takeaway!

Vixstar congrats on your loss! Polkadot that's brilliant recognising that although you had a small gain, the overall picture is still a good one! LOL about your DF... I actually don't understand how some women can keep their weight constant before & at the start of TOTM, when you think about what is going on during that time in your body

Went out for what was supposed to be an 8 mile run today, turned out the 'cycle trail' was more of an assault course and we ended up lost on the moors!!

Back now, just catching the end of the marathon on TV, why would you decide to run the marathon in a dog suit? Surely it's hard enough as it is without the heat exhaustion too!!

Granny, what I do when I have a craving is just to have it (luckily I don't get them often) I find if I leave it, it builds up then I go crazy.

It's better to give in and enjoy one bag of crisps, than to hold out and finally crack eating 6 bags!!

Raph - maybe you need to get GPRS downloaded onto your mobile phone? Failing that, do a Hansel & Gretel and leave a trail of white stones to shine in the moonlight - don't use bread, big mistake that one! Or a long piece of string? How are you feeling today with your motivation?

I agree about actually allowing yourself to have what you're craving. I think if you can't ignore it more than a couple of times when you feel the urge to have something, then the easiest, and most efficient way to get rid of it is to have whatever you are craving, but keep the portion size moderate, and as Missy suggested, either do some extra exercise, or accommodate it into your daily allowance.

It's pre-TOTM for me too, and I'm aware that I in the run up to it my version of PMT is that I don't cope well with lots of noise, and am less able to multi-task as well. I think it's like my brain just needs some quiet, stressfree time. Not easily done in a house full of boys, mid-house move, I can tell you. I had a good night's sleep, and woke up looking forward to cracking on with the day, but my BF & my 2nd eldest have had a bit of a clash today, and I'm stuck in the middle struggling to deal with it. I'm aware that it's PMT time for me, so the best way to deal with it right now is not deal with it! So I've got my head down, and my mouth firmly shut, as I doubt anything constructive can be achieved.

So, this is where the challenges are, to not resort to food as a means of coping (or not coping!), and I'm appreciating more and more how I'm starting to notice my triggers, acknowledging when it happens, and then controlling the situation. Cross words for some people can be just that, but if you have a complicated relationship with food, it's more than that. Like any form of addiction, a negative needn't create another negative. I won't use a stressful situation as an excuse to eat anymore, and that can only be a good thing. I feel I'm growing stronger as a person as a result, and won't end the day beating myself up about over-eating as a response, and then blaming someone else for that too.

Bl00dy complicated stuff this losing weight, isn't it?

So, food so far today is:
    B - porridge (229 cals)
    L - chunky beef soup (188 cals)

Not sure if I'll have some of the left over chinese later, or let the other's eat it. There's not loads, so any I have would be small, but I feel I've had my treat really, and want to keep to plan now, as TOTM will probably mean a STS for me, although I have managed to lose before, but withou treats.

Cloudy sunshine here, and we were forecast rain, so happy with that. Have got to faff around later driving down to S.Herts to return BF's van to depot before his hols start tomorrow. Seems silly for 3 days off, but hey ho. Oooh, and realised it's a bank hol weekend next week, so we'll have the van for 3 days then anyway, so ha! to them.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Unfortunately, because C took her bike (she can't run as far as me) and the route was very steep, we decided not to go back the same way, instead we decided to follow a route that should have been marked but wasn't.
We got home in the end thou :)
I'm feeling more motivated (slightly) towards the running, but nothing towards the sax! :(
I think it might be the shift I'm doing this week. I start work at 2 and finish at 10pm, it's too late to run or play sax when I get home so I have to squeeze everything in before 2 and it's too much. I end up giving up.

Raph - when I quickly read your post i read the word sax as something entirely different! I thought "shes being quite open and honest" ! Gonna have a couple of crumpets for lunch as its the weekend! OH is out tonight so dinner will most likely be tuna salad with some left over cous cous to fill me up. I have NEVER had a salad as a meal before, always as an aside to pick at so this is quite a big deal for me (how sad lol) so hoping I will enjoy it!

sary - when we have a take away Im always the same as you the next day debating whether to have a bit for dinner or let OH finish it all. It doesnt bother me to let him have it as like you say you've already had your treat, so I go from an mse point of view and think will he finish it or not, if theres too much for him then I will have a bit to save cooking for me and then eat light the next day.

Sary Thanks for mentioning the noise being an issue for you. I always think EVERYTHING is too loud coming up to, and DF is always saying how difficult I'm being.
We got a double buggy:jFrom a lady who goes to playgroup (saw an offer on freecycle). Its a Marco Sky L. She said her kids didnt like it-but we put ds in the back on his own and when we got home he refused to get out and sat in it at the bottom of the stairs for half an hour. It reminds me a lot of the buggy we had in SA. We brought it here but because of its size (it was a single and the same size as this double) I gave it to a charity shop . I still can't see myself trying to get on a bus with it-but it'll be good for park going-they are ALWAYS too tired to walk home after. DF made pizza bread for lunch which was yummy.

Hi guys its been a lovely sunny day here, dunno what came over me but i decided to bake some cakes, so i went searching the internet for a apple and sultana recipe, found this one seemed straight forward enough :) To my delight they baked perfectly tasted great all moist like they should be, OH said they were my best ever cakes so i'm :j Not sure about calories and what not but there isn't much sugar or butter in it so i recommend them to all. Oh i baked mine for 22.5 mins and used plain flour. Cleared up my headache no end so i'm going to do a workout tonight. Enjoy the sunshine if you have it :rotfl:
