Hello everyone
Goodness it's almost lunch time. Been investigating the buggy board situation-just placed an order for one on amazon for £40 inc p&p. The one I was given was an old model and they no longer do spare parts for them. I suppose in the long run its not a big deal with us trying for a new bub anyway-it wont be wasted.
Had vitality breakfast this morning and am thinking fish and mixed veg for lunch today. I might make some cranberry biscuits too-DF bought chocolate sandwich's yesterday and I had o biscuits so I went without. I put 35 minutes into my fit piggybank last night-basic step and jogging. I loved the step and I can see me going out in the parks eventually as I increase my jogging on the wii. I only did a short distance ( because I had been stepping and we had played tennis for about an hour). But I can see me doing loads of exercise now...DF says he's even thinking of cancelling his gym contract now:rotfl:
DMV Hope your day goes well
BB can assume that you've had good value out of the easy yo? DF has yoghurt every morning and DS eats lots too. I've thought about it but always changed my mind.0 -
BB so pleased you had such a good day yesterday! Thanks for answering about the low fat stuff, I think it makes sense for me to start making the switch back with some things now. What about semi skimmed milk, that's OK right? Or are any nasties added in the skimming process?
My quick thoughts about 'struggling' to add to your words of wisdom BB, would be:- Look at the overall picture and not any one week's results alone. If you have a 'bad' week go back and see where you are compared to a month ago, six months, twelve months
Hopefully this should be good news - if not then maybe consider tweaking your methods or starting a whole new approach?
- Don't judge your progress by what anyone else is doing. Work out what is a good result for YOU. Maybe you take two steps forward and one back all the time, that's OK. For some people anything less than a 2lb loss/week may be a disaster, but if you're one of the slower losers (and I'm one), then take pride in those 0.5lb losses!
- Same with maintaining - there are always people who manage to keep their weight constant which is great, but for me staying within the same half stone is good enough, if it stays in a smaller bracket that's over achieving
- If you're upping your activity/exercise, then measuring body fat/muscle and taking physical body measurements may be more appropriate than just looking at overall weight.
- Try to find enjoyment and fun in the whole process - we know it's hard work but it shouldn't have to feel like a constant slog 24/7 with lots of feeling low/depressed. For example I like keeping lots of stats, others enjoy the cookery aspect, and we all probably like a bit of a moneysaving challenge which can go nicely hand in hand with losing weight
DS goes back to school tomorrow so I'll have a bit more uninterrupted time then!

well day one is going well so far - plan is
granola, milk and oj
special k, milk and apple
cup soup
stuffed mushrooms and veg, tom juice
which so far i've stuck to today. And thats a result because for hte last week I've eaten everything that wasn't nailed down.0 -

It actually hasn't been that bad, as running days are Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun, out of the four there's only the Thurs that's a pain, as I need to leave the house earlier for work. But it's still do-able. On the Tuesday (thats a college day) I don't need to leave till later.
Food wise this weekend has been ooookkkk - ish!
We had that M&S dine in for two thing, which was Lussssh! But the profiteroles afterwards may have done some damage
I am not too stressed though, as I had a "trying on session" and found a few things that used to be tight on me are now baggy!! Woop! Was chuffed with that!
Well tonight is a REST night...as per my schedule! Lol..but I think I might do super abs and super legs and maybe some weight training. I am not planning on doing any aerobic exercise though.

Very good value as I got it for nothing on freecycle:D. I never buy the sachets polka - I make my own using UHT skimmed milk, skimmed powdered milk and some yogurt from the previous bacth as a culture starter. If you want more fat it it for DA, you can use semi skimmed of full fat UHT. If you ant precise quantities let me know. It is so easy and so much cheaper. And you never run out and have to go shopping for more.
Great post missy. Yes I will continue to use semi skimmed milk (Looking at the label I can't see any nasties, I think it is a physcal skimming process). I tried skimmed one - coloured water as far as I am concerned:rotfl:.
I never buy sauces - it's easy enough for me to bulk make tomato based sauces and free in portions. I was using sauce flour to make a white sauce without butter but when I ran out I just used ordinary white flour and that worked fine. Of course white flour is more processed than brown but I'm not sure if you can make a sauce with wholemeal flour?
In case I sound unbareably virtuous, can I just remind peeps I had fish and chips last night:D
I have got a bit of a thing for weetabix before I go to bed at the mo, and all cereals have added salt and sugar and carp, but weetabix seems to be one of the lower ones in this category. I don't think I could ever classify 'breakfast cereals' as healthy. They take all the goodness out of them when making them, then have to artificially add them back and can then so 'ooh, look at us, added so& so, so gooood for you':rotfl: 'But we won't mention how much sugar and salt we are adding to give this cardboard flavour'. Again, in case I sound too virtuous, I do find myself adding some canderel to my weetabix and you can't get more manufactured carp than pretend sugar. On the other hand, I do conciously know I am doing it, rather than thinking I am being healthy and misleading myself.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hello again everyone,
It has taken me ages to catch up on the thread - and the things you lot have been discussing!!!
Well my trip to Liverpool was lovely, but busy. We were really lucky with the weather, and it meant my goddaughter's party could be held in the garden. She's also got a new garden climbing frame/swing/slide so all her little friends were going crazy on it for hours. My boys did me proud helping out, and I got lots of lovely comments about how wonderful they are. It's good to get feedback like that, but I must admit they seldom let me down when we're out, and as they're quite chatty and confident, they mix with all ages happily. Certainly not a mono-syllabic amongst them!
So food. It's been a bit hit and miss, but I tried to stay relatively on track.
Saturday's food was:
B - porridge
L - baxter's soup
D - lasagne, salad, birthday choc cake (had to leave some it was too big a portion & too sickly) nibbles of tortillas & crudites.
By the end of the day I felt very bloated, and had definitely eaten more than I should. There was loads of food left over, and I was packed off home with a doggy sack, not a bag. I really missed my BF while I was away too, so was really looking forward to coming back home yesterday. The trip home was eventful; my youngest got travel sick and barfed in the car on the M62! We had an unscheduled pit-stop, dealt with all that, then made our way home.
After getting home I had to deal with a discipline issue with one of my older boys, but the BF & I discussed it and have dealt with it. Then a policeman knocked at the door while I was cooking tea asking if I'd be willing to give a statement about an incident that took place over a month ago, that my neighbour was involved in (he's also a PC), during which he got assaulted, and they need a witness to support the prosecution. I had a 'ringside seat' and saw what happened, so ended up spending a couple of hours giving a statement last night! What a welcome home!
Food yesterday:
Brunch - 2 slices bacon/wholemeal roll
L - salmon/cucumber on wholemeal sandwich, pkt snack a jacks
D - lasagne (from the doggy bag) & salad
I just want to get back 'on plan'.
Today is better, and I'm off out up to my house to pack some more stuff in the car. Not much more, or longer to go there.
Back later! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
