ah, vix, we all judge ourselves by others and we really shouldn't, because we just don't know whats going on each others lives. I frequently feel rather dispirited about the fact that nearly everyone else i know lives in a nicer house, drives a nicer car, goes on nicer holidays and all that sort of stuff. But then in the office today we were talking about plans for easter, and one of the guys just said to me 'your life sounds fantastic. i wish mine was as good'. And yet this is what you'd call a high flyer, with a nice home in the countryside-ish, good car, beautiful girlfriend, baby etc. and i thought, actually you're right. my life is great. sometimes you need someone else to tell you that.0

If it helps Vix, my first job after uni was 7 grand for 88 hour weeks! And I wouldn't change that experience for the world either. I know it's hard right in this moment but it will get better. Remember, your friends may well be looking at you wishing they had their own place... concentrate on what's great in life, and you have lots of those xx
Ha ha, it made me quite tired too Granny! You thinking of heading over there?
EDIT: hear hear KPC. And I think your life sound great too xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hey guys,
Polkadot & Vix I've friend requested you both on FB.
If anyone else wants to stay in touch over the w/end while the site is down, then my FB is here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/profile.php?id=789124632&ref=profile
Just let me know your MSE username in the friend request.
I'm on Twitter too, just search for me by my username Sarymclary and you should find me.
It will be odd not having the site here to come to report in. I'm going to keep a food log as usual anyway.
Vix, I think more people than you realise will be able to relate to how you are feeling. What I have also realised with the benefit of time, is that the people who you may look at and think have got it perfectly sorted, usually turn out to be struggling the most, whether it be financially or emotionally. I've not worked properly since before my 2nd son was born almost 16 years ago. Trying to look for work, despite having experience, qualifications etc., seems to count for little in the marketplace right now. It's the climate we live in, not you, or me, or the rest of the job hunters. I left college (a million years ago) and there were 3.5 million unemployed. I managed to get work, but I earnt a pittance, but I was living with my parents and had to take any job offered - I worked f/t for as much as people were getting on youth training schemes, but I was far better qualified than they were. It will get better, and you will find something in the end, but you may have to get a 'make do' job for the time being, but at least it will be another income in the meantime.
Well, it's been a funny old day here. Feel like I achieved very little, but cleaned & have done some gardening (fighting with a mahoosive bramble). OH has finished work early - yay! and he also has the works van for the weekend. No idea how long it's going to take to get moved out, but I have a month to get my old house cleared/cleaned, etc. It was totally minging when I took it on, have redecorated & improved it 1000% since, so can't see there being any problems. I have to remove everything though, including carpets, etc. I have a wood floor to take up, which we want to put down here, and I have some lovely built in shelves/cupboards OH built me, that will fit nicely into his house, so major redecoration going to be going on here too. He's said today how nice it is to know that I'm here for good now, and we've got the rest of our lives to get the house & garden how we want it, but now we're properly together. It feels good, I don't mind telling ya!
Polka - I used a temp chart when trying for DS1, and also used ovulation tests and was lucky enough to fall pregnant the first month we tried. If you know your cycle fairly well, it's easier to predict ovulation, and sometimes I've felt a soreness on one side when I have. Remember though, that we don't always ovulate every month, and that is quite normal too. I would just say to you and OH to thoroughly enjoy the process, and give yourself a longer term goal to aim for success, rather than just 1 month. Good luck, and do feel free to chat about it here, let's face it, we cover every topic under the sun on this thread!
OK, quickly food log:
B - porridge
L - 1 hot x bun, 1 slice toast
D - 1 quorn 1/4 pounder, homefries (naughty) mixed veg
snacks - some fruit jellies (although I think these are counter-productive & making me crave food more, probably because of the sugar content)One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Ha ha, it made me quite tired too Granny! You thinking of heading over there? HA HA HA :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
EDIT: hear hear KPC. And I think your life sound great too x Yes, me too and mostly great fun.
But I wouldn't fancy some parts of KPC's life -- didn't she say she was sewing pants for a fellow re-enactor the other day? I only use staples and double sided sticky tape - I don't think he would have liked that.
Your link didn't work for me Sary. But if you look on fb at Vix's friends I'm the one called Denise C.(Don't like to put the whole name on here --- not sure why but ....)
Polkadot - have snet you a friend request.0 -
