I do mine with a 2 microfibre cloths-1 wet, 1 dry, a bucket of hot water and a couple of caps of flash lemon. I've been doing this since last November as I moved into a house with laminate throughout and had a string mop that I just couldn't get on with. If I didn't have a toddler running around constantly as I did it I wouldn't bother with the dry cloth either as it dries quite quickly.

Last week, after a particularly 'bad' floor week (lots of people in and out) I went and spent a small fortune on a Vileda flat magic mop, after reading amazing things....pfft. It's awful, the only way to really get it dry enough not to leave puddles is to manually squeeze the end out whilst it's folded and it really doesn't get anything grottier than a slightly walked on floor clean. I'm back on my hands and knees and it comes out with a spray bottle for the odd incident between cleans.

I'm using a microfibre mop with two attachment heads - one dry to pick up the dust etc. , one for wet use. Have used only plain water on my hall floor with this - and it comes up clean (filthy mop head tho'!) every time. Just need to rinse out the mop head. Didn't really believe it would work with no cleaner - but it really does. The instructions said to use no chemicals - so I don't!!

I too use the vileda triangle one but find with any mop I go round after on my hands & knees to do the edges and door inserts properly.

found a piccie of it online - the blue scrubby bit helps if you are like me, and let the floor get a bit too grubby before mopping... :o

I loathe housework and the thought of all that effort makes me feel ugh!
Hat's off to you for it though, I have a secret envy of people who enjoy housework.

My mum loves it all, buckets of bleach stuff, finds it relaxing:huh: She didn't pass that gene on sadly.

Just wondering as for ages I've been using floor wipes, the mop bucket takes up space and the kitchen floor takes ages to dry when wet. I just push the wipes around with a mop. However, I now have had a new kitchen floor laid and want to keep it nice, somehow I feel the wipes don't give it a thorough clean, is there any way of easy cleaning without the dreaded mop bucket?
  • hehe I use a mop and bucket!!!!!
