I have tried every mop on the market and have found the vileda blue ones last the longest. They have them in Asda in a twin pack for £3 at the moment so I am stocking up.Thats the ones that look like a proper mop not the sponge ones.
When I used one of the white string ones I had to wait for the floor to dry and then sweep up all the shredded bit up- took ages:mad:

    Regards

I'm going to look out for that one, is it a flat head or a baggy string style?
Like you I hate all the bits from white mops.

iv recently bought a flash power mop, maybe not quite MSE as you need to replace the mop pads, you get a solution bottle with it but iv been using my own solution after it ran out with no issues.

got it for £10 in tesco

no more puddles of water on the floor, im very happy with it.

I absolutely swear by my vileda mop. with the blue scrubby bit near the top of the mop! :D
and I like to use flash on the floors, because it doesn't streak like some cheaper ones.
Hate those sponge mops that fold in half to squeeze out the water, as they leave the mop to wet, and don't like the old fashioned striong ones, as they leave fluff for quite a while when they are new...

LOVE IT!!! Yes thats it i've found the solution!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Think i might 'gasp' try the hands and knees job as my friend swears by this! Failing that the vileda one does sound good! Got some Flash- a big 3 ltr one the other day reduced to 99p at my local shop so will be using that! However have terrible throat infection and feel like poo so all this will have to wait!

    Thanks everyone. xx

The best thing on laminate is hands and knees, a bowl of hot water and a cloth. I use the ones that come in pastel colours, (not j cloth type nor microfibre) not sure what they're called:o A drop of Stardrops in the water or in a spray bottle, diluted, and away u go. Don't need to dry it as the cloth is so good its dry at one end of the room before you've got to the door! I do my clients' laminates this way and they are amazed how much grot u get up this way. I went to one lady a couple of weeks ago and she said the dog had brought mud over the floor so she'd mopped the day before so no need to do it. I did it anyway and she was horrified how filthy the water and the cloth were:eek:

I loathe housework and the thought of all that effort makes me feel ugh!
Hat's off to you for it though, I have a secret envy of people who enjoy housework.

My mum loves it all, buckets of bleach stuff, finds it relaxing:huh: She didn't pass that gene on sadly.
  • You can't beat doing it on your hands and knees i use Flash or even better hot water and soda crystals about 90p for a big bag much better than a mop anyday. oh and dry it straightaway with kitchen towel/clean cloth

I used to always wash my floor with a bucket of hot water with soda crystals in and a squirt of disinfectant, but nowadays sadly my knees aren't up to it .Best way I know though to make sure the floor is clean .I now have a 'swiffer' thingy but its nowhere as good as 'elbow grease' Like my old Mum I also used to put a few sheets of newspaper down till it dried off so I could walk on it.Strange how all the best news stories were always on the old newspaper and I would spend ages reading them as I lay them down :):):)
