another tesco value thing i buy is the tights (for work) 5 pairs for 1.50 they are barely black but wash well and i resent paying more for them when i am only going to wear them to work! they seem to last as long as the more expensive tight ranges.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. I haven't read all this thread so sorry if i'm repeating what others have said.... I have started trying a few value products each week with my shopping.
At the moment I have tried:
Corned Beef (packet not tin)
Eggs
Custard creams
Choc digestives
Plain digestives
Cheese
Yogurts
Beef steaks (had these last night and they were yum!)
Tinned tomatoes (not tried these yet)
Rubber gloves
erm...sure i've bought more than this but can't remember. I must say I bought the fresh orange juice and that was horrible. But i'm definitely going to keep trying the value products:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

Well we had some chicken to use up so I bought a tin of the 4p curry sauce to try.
To be honest I can get top of the range sauces for about 29p as we have a B & M nearby so I normally buy them from there but I thought I would try this.
He says it was ok for 4p, a bit like the type of curry sauce you get in a pot noodle but thicker.0 -

He doesn't mind if I buy it again as a cupboard filler.0 -
I've just done an on-line shop and have ordered quite a few Value items. Compared the standard pitta bread with the value one and the only difference I could see (apart from the price!) was the value one had less salt!!
Always buy their choc digestives (prefer them to McVities), bourbons, jaffa cakes - taste just the same as the branded ones.
Bought a huge bottle of value bleach - OK it's thin but what the heck, it's only going down the loo or sink so why spend more for the thick stuff?!!
Bought a pack of value kiwi fruits last week and they were delicious (of course, unavailable this week!). Their bag of value onions are fine, just smaller. So are the courgettes and bag of peppers.
Didn't like the value baked beans - sauce is too thin and I'm sure there are less beans per tin! Wouldnt bother with the rubber gloves again - the fingers stuck together after a few days of use!
The dishwasher tablets did the job OK too.0 -

. Thought was disappointed to see they are discontinuing their Value wholemeal bread! Most of my shop last night was stripey. Got some funny looks, but do I care? Nope. I'm the one that has restocked by cupboards and fridge for less than 20 quid for three of us (eldest is away this weekend).
Haven't tried it yet but picked the Value version of Branston pickle its 28p. I'll let you know what its like.
Back as promised to report on the Value version of branston pickle. We had it on cheese sandwiches. The consistency is half way between the normal branston and the sandwich one (I find the branston sandwich one TOO runny), which makes this one just perfect. The taste is very similar and there are dcent sized chunks in this too. Overall winner especially for 28p!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -

thanks for this - i have stopped buying the branston pickle in favour of the tesco own brand to save pennies - i was a bit dubious about the value one but will definatly give it a go when i need a new jar!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness.
