Just for some further info. This happened to me with another reseller. I forget the name now.

They went into liquidation, their administrators after some time passed on what was left of their monnies.

I received about £200 of the £560 I originally lost.

You won't be able to get 3 to honour their deal, as the cash back is not honoured through them. They will however continue to provide you with a service.

No point chasing the company if it has gone into liquidation there is nothing you can do.

HI everyone, as most other people I hate being conned. Talkworldonlin was a private limited company and not a public limited company, but I do not have the names of any of their directors or owners.

I have written to 3 demanding they honour the cash back. I would not have entered into the contract with 3, had their agent not promised the line rental was being refunded. They have 7 days to reply. My letter clear states "I bought a motorolla telephone with 12 months free line rental". Infact I have paid on average £30 per month line rental - clear breach of the contract I was offered by their agent.

I intend to raise a small claim against 3, next week, as I am sure they will not be sending me a cheque for £230. It will cost me £30 to see them in court, well worth every pound to embarrass these guys. I believe it will cost these guys hundreds of pounds (if not thousands) defending my case and sending a legal adviser to court to hear me out.

I have used money claim on line twice before and one both cases. I believe 3 will settle the amount as it will be cheaper and less embarrassing for them to do so than to attend court to fight the proccedings.

I have also switched my mobile contract from 3 to O2 (The contract ran out).

I will keep you informed on how successful the proceedings are. I just want to see these guys in court! David versus Goliath.

hi all, do you think its a good idea to form a GROUP and take action against TW or 3 ? im not volunteering as i was lucky enough to get my 550 quid + :rotfl: a week or so before my brother -this thread's starter ZAP.

There is a thread at the DVDForums and Rpoints regarding people who have been conned by Talkworld. I think we should all gang up for a collective claim or complaint to Trading Standards. Maybe we should all also make a collective report to BBC's Watchdog! I'm owed £330 for an Orange contract. I had two phones repaired by them in January but have had no contact since. I sent my cashback claim by Special Delivery at the end of November.
