Hmmm... Starting to look like a better deal than the Tesco Acer Travelmate now - the dell one comes in £20 LESS but has 20gb more HD, 256mb more memory but Celeron instead of Pentium. Back to the Celeron v Pentium debate again!0 -
Remember as well you can go through the Necter site and buy from Dell as well so getting 4 points for every £1 If I remember correctly. I got the £299 one but had to do it over the phone so no points0

The EPP site uses exactly the same codes, etc. as the normal site but calculates EPP prices instead, so any machine available via the normal homepage is available this way and vice versa, just the prices are different.

My (v.nice) contact at Dell has agreed to take 20-30 orders today..just PM me and I'll give you his email address. Please be patient with him as he seems to be the only guy putting them through!. He's promised to work late to sort them.
Unfortunately I'm out until 3.30 (ish) but will give you his contact details when I get back.
Good luck!0 -

O.K. guys, Im totally lost here now, I tried like most of you to get the £299 laptop and was unsuccessful, am I right in thinking that now it is better value to upgrade?????
My son is after a laptop, just to do his worksheets, surf the net, regular stuff really. I have been looking for the inspiron 6000, thats what I use and have been highly delighted with it, but I got a good deal, it was around £500. Im not struck on the celeron processor, not that I know anything at all about them just that most people say to steer away..........................Is this basic deal o.k. for me (if I am ever able to get it!!!) He would want to upgrade the ram to 512, do we go with basic, then upgrade later or do we go for the upgraded version?????????0 -
With permission from Marlowtech I am happy ti help out 20 people with this contact if you pm me. First in
thanks0
