Enough people have complained to Watchdog so it will be interesting to see if anyone gets contacted for more information.
What would have been interesting is if one of the Wathdog staff tried to order the laptop, and got the same run around that several of us got!

I attempted to place an order yesterday which came to £366 (Upped screen, battery+mouse) which will be cancelled as it was through the EPP scheme, £48 extra gets me 256 Ram (which I'd have bought as 512mb is really minimum spec) and +20G HD which seems reasonable to me.I do hope you're telling the truth?0

The original N02135 offer (link in OP) which should have been £299 but was £339 is now showing as £399! This despite still being advertised in today's papers at £299.0
-
...and this makes even less sense given the new N02135a offer which is better all round and still cheaper than the new price for this model0
-
Perhaps the Dell newspaper adverts should be nominated as the MoneySaving joke of the month for Feb!0

This one also comes up as "EMPLOYEE PURCHASE PROGRAM" - does that mean it'll also be cancelled or is it ok because it's gone via "dmxdimension" (whoevever they are)?0 -

I cancelled the day after I ordered a different Dell laptop last week and got offered no discount whatsoever! I'm not sure if you are liable for the postage to return it if you cancel after you've received it!0 -

Don't think it is an employee deal - you can get to it via the website with code 305-N02135a0 -

You're right - just found it using that code. That means you can click via Quidco and get 4.5% cashback too so £379 seems better value than the £299 "deal". - £80 more for double the memory, bigger screen and bigger hard drive. Plus no need to call that friendly order line because all done online!0
