Morning Ladies!
Is there any sort of guide on how much weight you should be expecting to put on by certain times of your pregnancy?
I'm 24 weeks and not been weighed by midwife at all, but then I don't think it's important, however when people ask me how much weight I've gained so far and I say 8lbs, they look surprised and say that's not much and am I sure it's measuring right etc. All measuremements from scans have been fine, and I'm not eating more than I used to and I'm still fairly active so in my mind, everything is fine and I think I should ignore their reactions - just wanted to check so I can tell them that it isn't actually 'the norm' to pile on weight, some do and some don't, it's different for everyone, just like bump size I guess.0 -
Caz - are you signed up for topcashback? You can get cashback from things purchased on eBay as well as other internet stuff. Just been on insurance thread and someone recommended it - I will get £40 cashback from this site instead of £20 from my NHS site.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
I can only imagine how tough this is for her, I'm making a point of not really talking too much about the pregnancy and i only ever talk about it when she asks questions, I don't want to make it any harder for her and the timing coulldn't really be much worse but there is nothing we can do to avoid this situation, there's nowhere else in the company i could go as me and her are the HR dept for Northern EMEA, and that also means there's no-one else who could help with my filing, I've not taken any time off sick for this pregnancy and have only worked form home on the days it was snowing as it's a 40 min drive and she was the one who said i shouldn't be driving in. I honestly am not taking the mick but some day's it's just really hard when i feel attacked for something I can't change.
It sounds like you are doing all in your power HypnoNu and I wasn't intending to suggest that you would have been deliberately making life hard for her.
I know when something similar happened (not involving me!) in the company I worked for, that the HR secretary went to cover in another part of the company for a while, and HR got a temp in to do their job. Would that not be an option in your case if things are getting unbearably tense?0 -
HypnoNu I know how you feel to an extent. I work in 2 different offices and in one of them there is a girl who had been trying for years to get an egg doner, finally got one, and on the day after I told the office I was pregnant, she was told the doner eggs were not compatible.
In the other office one of the managers has just come back after giving birth to a still born at 26 weeks, so I am having to be very careful about pg stuff, which I am fine about, but part of me feels as though I am not allowed to enjoy this baby as much through the day.
I guess what I am saying is, its hard for all involved, but its only for a relatively short time, and by the time I come back from mat leave, things should be easierThe two best things I have done with my life

That sounds about right. There aren't hard and fast rules any more, but my recollection is that no weight gain at all in first three months, followed by around 2-3lb a month in tri 2, and 1lb a week in tri 3 is considered a sensible rate.0 -
I need some help ladies. I can't find a black laundry bin anywhere. No shops here so it has to be online. Any ideas gratefully accepted.Too many children, too little time!!!0
