went for sweep, was horrible! the midwife took great pleasure in complimenting me on my soft cervix as if we were discussing a new haircut over tea and biscuits and then took even greater pleasure in showing me the blood covered glove once she'd done *barf* apparantly i've started to dilate though not a lot and she touched little mans head so she's sure i'm nearly there. been in agony since so it best be ruddy worth it!Mummy to

Evening all..
I've caught up and, be warned, I've taken notes.. here goes!
Not being taken seriously at work - I'm getting teased for forgetting things already, but then again I don't think it's anything I wouldn't have done had I not been pregnant! (I think I just got distracted and went off on a tangent anyway!). Luckily, it's my closest colleagues who catch me out and we all just laugh about it.
Jvic - yup, our parentcraft/antenatal classes are a grand sum of one four hour session on a Saturday. Can book from 24wks onwards.
Little Pickle - congrats on joining Team Blue!Which reminds me, Sami, please can I have a boy thing next to my name, and searching needs one too!
Emlou - hope your sweep has some effect
MFD - hope you enjoy your tea out. You mentioned joining on the morning of your BFP.. I joined around the same time (originally), then just never went away - everyone knew I was going to do the test this time round the night before! When I got the BFP, I told OH, my parents then you lot - then went to work!
Glam - DelMonte orange ice lollies DO count as a fruit portion! It's on the box!
Feelie - glad your scan went well. You're sounding really positive
Tiamai-d - you too sound very positive!Do you have a camera on your phone? You could take a pic of your scan pic, then txt it to your email address and upload it that way
And.. *breathe*
I was coming on for a rant actually about people being critical about what you're eating but I see emlou mentioned it earlier too. I'm seriously fed up of hearing "Are you eating again?" or "Oh it's so nice to see you eating!" - ARGH!! I'm eating cos I'm hungry.. just like I always used to!! Grrr..
We've been to Tesco tonight for a few bits and got the 3-6mth size furry snowsuit type thing that matches the furry hat (with ears) and scratch mitts which OH insisted on getting last week. Couldn't really say no as it was £10 reduced to £2.50!!
OH has gone to his parents now to light their aga and put bread and milk in the kitchen; they're home from hols tonight. He's picking up tea on his way back - just need to decide on KFC, Maccy's or chippie!0 -
Hi All
Awww, the list looks so cute with all the little blue and pink symbols, well done to whoever did that:)
Tia - I am so glad the scan and appt went well:)
Nicki - Glad you didn't have to go too far stood up, I would also offer my seat to pregnant or elderly travellers. I can't believe no-one offered you one, although to be honest I have been in similar situations a few times, it doesn't really bother me.
Feeli - Soo glad the scan went well:) Can I just ask, why did you find it awkward with the sonographer being male?
MFD - Have a nice dinner, out or fish and chips, if that's what you are going for:)
I wonder if a hot curry really will start labour;) I can't be bothered cooking, so gave dh choice of chinese or indian...of course he chose an indian....as we do every time, unless we are down by the shops (which is where the chinese is) I am trying to decide which curry to go for:D and will order it in about 30-40 mins that way we can enjoy it in peace once the boys are in bed:D

Bleurgggghhhh. Walked into one room this morning that absolutley reeked of garlic- I couldn't stop dry heaving!!love my little man he is amazing :j0 -

I really don't understand why people do that! I always leave hotel rooms as I find them - apart from the towels in the bath and the tea/coffee supplies missing!
ETA: Come to think of it, my dad always used to say "you treat this house like a hotel!".. I didn't - I treat hotels with much more respect! hehe0 -
Elle - I'm a cheapskate - ASDA's own!
Tia and feelie glad it went so well.
Quick question
Scan pics - I want to get a couple and the leaflet says they are £2 each - when I say a couple I was thinking like 4 or 5. One each for me and OH and then one each to go in Mother's Day cards.
However, in the spirit of MSE if I took a photo of the scan pic and then printed it would it look any good?!
It says that scanning it MAY ruin the image - what have you guys done?
Supernoodles going down well - with peas and sweetcorn and cheese (weird I know)A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
emlou and elle you both posted while I was typing!
hope the sweep works for you emlou:)
elle, I had people commenting all the time at work, whenever I ate anything, used to get on my nerves....esp as they would then move on and discuss 'what' I was eating. Bargain on the snowsuit too:)
