It goes without saying that I won't eat them if they look or smell funny when I open them, but would you eat them even if you thought they were OK or would you stay well away? I probably should just throw them but then I think "well, it's not like they go off on the stroke of midnight".
I'd eat a yogurt that was a couple of days out of date. I'm pretty bad with yogurt usually, and have eaten ones up to a month out of date while not pregnant, so a day or two doesn't seem like a big deal really. I don't think I've ever known a yogurt to go offStay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

Personally no. Even if they smelled OK I'd still err on the side of caution as the consequences of contracting food poisoning in pregnancy can be so serious. For the same reason, I steer clear of anything with uncooked eggs, and of soft cheeses and pates. However many pregnant women in other cultures eat these things with no concern, so it has to be a personal choice as to whether you are prepared to run the risk.0 -

My colleagues, a mix of male and female but none of them pregnant, all seem to be on a crusade to out do each other on how long out of date a yoghurt they can bear to eat!! (I know, odd bunch I work with!) I think the current record is eight days.. Their theory is that it's all gone off milk anyway so what does a few more days matter!
I'm not a great fan of yoghurt anyway so I'm no use!0 -

Yes, I would eat out of date food!!! Would just show the same caution you already are.
On the hiccups issue, I am 25 weeks and have only felt the hiccups for about 2 weeks. Its just a repeated sort of dum, dum, dum - just like our hiccups except I can usually see my bump moving up and down with each hic! It kinda feels like I am being flicked inside repeatedly. Quite often lasts a good 20 minutes and when she's finished I feel like I have done loads of sit ups as my bump aches. Beanie usually gets hers when I eat spicy food!Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -

My take on this is to not eat anything which has a use by date ending within the next 24 hours. Im like that when im not pregnant though. I so hate putting something in my mouth which tastes off, and sometimes I cannot be sure
I made cocktail sausages yesterday with 10/03 date, they were minging and definately off, had me retching for hours. I thought they looked a bit pale, but it was hard to tell. This happens to me so often, now im just suspicious of most things with dates.0 -
I have finally decided to not ask the sex tomorrow, though that doesnt mean I wont change my mind again tomorrow
Baby hiccups, I think its the pattern that gives it away. Every few seconds you feel baby give like a mini jump if that makes sense and its rhythmic(sp).
I think I should invest in one of the pregnancy pillows as im so uncomfortable when trying to sleep. I always sleep on my belly, which is now out of the question, so im also sleeping with one leg on top of the other. Its never painful just doesn't feel right and I end up tossing and turning.
I should probably enjoy that at least I can toss and turn because if I remember rightly, tossing and turning soon becomes impossible as the baby gets heavier lol.
We're having a surprise too (well, it's going to be a baby, doh, the sex I mean!) but I kinda want to know but then I don't want to know again. I only want to know so I can buy pink or blue things (I'm afraid if I had a girl, she would be dressed in pink most of the time as it's my fave colour!). It's too late now though as we've had our 20wk scan.
I don't really know much about pregnancy pillows. I saw the wedge pillows in Mothercare for £10 but haven't see the longer ones anywhere and I've no idea what a good price is for them.
I don't think I've experienced hiccups then, as all my kicks haven't been at regular intervals, although they have been getting stronger over the past day or so and I can see some of them from the outside now.0 -

I'm 23wks now, so perhaps I'll be getting them anytime soon, although I don't like spicy food, so it might be a bit longer for me. It sounds quite a funny thing to experience, although I can see it getting annoying if baby's got them and you're trying to sleep (or balance the laptop on your bump)

Thank you for all your replies about the yoghurt.
It's so difficult. I have been very good so far - I haven't had anything on the "no go" list including runny fried eggs (I didn't use to have fried eggs very often anyway but since I can't have them, I've been wanting them!) and I've only had about 1 glass of wine too.
I think I'll take a yoghurt with me tomorrow and see how it is and perhaps give Wednesday's a miss (and take an extra kitkat instead...if I take an orange one, it might count towards my five a day).
