  • lioness - I found that my MW was really business like at the start - like she just had a list of things to say to me and anything that veered away from that list was an inconvenience.

Now (I am 41 weeks today) I think she is great, we have developed a lovely relationship and I was gutted last week when there was a possibility that I might not see her again (she is on holiday at the moment). She said whatever happens she will pop in and meet my little boy, even if I have been discharged from MW care.

I think it is tough for them at the beginning, they have to process so much information.

I guess I am saying give her time - she might be a good one yet!

Thanks MFD - I guess I was being a bit harsh - new mums probably expect too much at booking in :o Next appt is beginning of April so will let you all know!

I felt exactly the same! I wanted a MW who I could really bond with and expected it from the beginning...

...the next trap I fell into was when she says 'how are you' just answering 'I'm fine thanks' like you would with anybody else and not realising that she was actually asking how the pregnancy was going - then feeling miffed that she never asked :rotfl:

If I haven't got a baby by the time you have your next appointment I will be incapable of thought (or movement probably!!)

    Hi Everybody

Cant believe how long its taken to catch up on this thread lol.

I've had a belting headache all morning and again getting very little done, feel like I have the Monday morning blues.

On a good note I have my 20 week scan in the morning and im very excited, still can't decide to find out the sex or not???

Love the suggestions of the pushchair and carseat as Im going to need one of them myself.

Labour vibes to all that need them.
  • LOL, I do that too 'I'm fine' is my standard reply!

I'm sure babybug will have arrived safe and sound by then - will they induce you at a certain point?

Mrs Moc - we're going to try to find out the sex, if only to get the arguments on names sorted before the birth! We won't be going down the blue/pink room route, but it would just make life easier!! Just thinking about doing a mural actually, maybe a sea scene or a safari?

  • He sounds very chilled - maybe it's a good sign?!

Link would be fab thanks.... we've found some stencils on Amazon but we're not sure about our artistic skills! Sea scene would be nice and soothing I hope.

He is far from chilled most of the time - he gives me hell with his hiccups and bony elbows and pokey fingers!! He gets very upset and frustrated if I wear the wrong trousers or sit too close to the table. And when his dad is near he likes to push and poke him too!!

Can't wait to see if he is the little s0d that I think he is LOL!

  • LOL - he's obviously getting ready to make his big entrance! Can't imagine what that's going to be like. At the mo am just looking rather porky rather than pregnant and I can't feel the cub...

OMG - thought I'd try and catch up and another 2 pages after my last post to read first. May need to leave the catching up until later or I might be very naughty and just follow on from here!

MFD - was hoping I'd be sending my congrats on by now. What news of emlou?

I'm going to have to go out and get some mat jeans - the only pair that fit me are on old size 12 that are too big. Wore them to ASDA and was hitching them up the whole time - can't do the buttons up on anything else!! :rotfl:

3 more sleeps til my dating scan :j and 7 more sleeps til my nuchal scan when OH can come and see bean :j

Welcome to the club moutainlioness :hello: the list is growing all the time!!
