we have a bath mat :) , i just meant a couple more of them that we already have so they can be rinsed and dried ready. as there's only the 2 of us we have 2 mats at the moment.
we have a friend who will do all the flooring for us, its his business so i know he'll do a good job for us. he also has 2 kids so will be able to advise us whats best for bathroom.

jillie, i wouldnt recommend laminate in the bathroom cos in our old house there was a leak just before we moved in and it went down between the wood, a few months later just before we moved out there was a horrible smell that filled the house and all the edges of the flooring was wrinkling up, it turned out there was loads of mould growing under the flooring (cue puking smilie) that had also got into the wood beams in the construction of the house! the builder that did it said he didnt recommend laminate for bathrooms cos it doesnt last very long and he said he had seen similar situations a few times before. we were very thankful to be only renting!!

thanks emlou, thats what i was also thinking... at least if you get a leak with vinyl, its easy to replace...
will just have to persuade hubby its the best. and you get some lovely vinyl at the moment. and prob would be a lot cheaper...

I have vinyl in my bathroom that looks like laminate... Does that count? Actually bought it to put up the hall but my little brother was doing the cutting and it wall went terribly wrong so we just put the good bit in the bathroom and he laminated my hall for me instead... Although he never came back to finish the edges for me, and it's been 3 years now!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

our new place has what looks like vinyl stone effect tiles, they're lovely and they make the laminate next to them in the hallway look cheap but was actually probably cheaper! warmer under your feet as well!

Sorry please excuse the background I have boxes of new furniture everywhere and the walls are a mess just been prepped for plastering! Which is getting done this weekend thank god!

Sparkle - I think my bump was the same size as that by 18wks, I kept getting asked how long I had left, as if I was going to say 7/8wks...they all nearly fell over when I told them I wasn't even half way....I really wouldn't listen to what people say though they will always find something to comment on:rolleyes:

I hope MFD is cuddling her baby by now:D

Just jumping in on the flooring discussion here, My preferred combination of flooring is..Wooden throughout downstairs, except Kitchen in which case tiles are best (or vinyl) The wooden floors are great for living and dining room as they are nice and easy to keep clean, but tiles are better in kitchens as they are harder wearing and won't soak up grease/water spillages, which are more likely to occur in kitchens. Kids bedroom HAS to be carpets with thick underlay, for both comfort of playing and noise reduction purposes. Adult bedroom I actually have no preference over wood or carpet we have had both and it doesn't make much difference. Bathroom has to be vinyl, because of the amount of water and steam created in there. Hall and stairs I slightly favour carpet, because of noise and safety.

That black and white spotty pram that was linked to before (can't remember who by) is lovely. I was talking to a mum in town last week who had one, it definitely stands out in the crowd.

And finally (before I go and make some soup) I went out at 8.30 this morning, walked the kids to school, then walked to the town, got the bus back but got off at the local shops and walked back from there...I just got in at about 11(ish) I hope walking does start labour;)

Definitely would tile the bathroom rather then laminate :)

Right back from the docs - there was glucose in my urine again (DRAT!) but my bloods came back clear. However because I've now had glucose in my wee twice in a matter of weeks they're going to increase my monitoring :( So have to go back again in 7-10 days to provide ANOTHER sample... grrrrrr Basically they are monitoring me for gestational diabetes from now till she arrives. Also got prescription for canesten - doc reacons it's thrush - if not gone in a week - come back. Again something that is not only increased in risk with pregnancy but often linked with diabetes... Oh yes it was a cheerful meeting indeed :rotfl:

So went and picked up my prescription and my Boots changing bag at the same time - wooohooo!

Noticed all my Tesco vouchers are still in date... apart from the basket! I could cry! You think they'd still honour it or send me a new one? I hadn't cottoned on to the rest having a longer use by date than the free basket :(

I bought my first pair of Addidas trainers the other week, they are so comfy, I mainly bought them because they have velcro straps and it's easier to put them on in pregnancy, but they are so lush, just pure white, and DS has the same pair, cost me £15 for both pairs.

Thanks for that AM - you're making me shop!!
Just ordered them for me (Size 5), DS (Also size 5:eek: ), DD (Size 12) and DD2 (size nothing!) - all for £51.00 with free delivery. Bargain!!

check us lot buying trainers! I decided (with a lot of convincing from OH) that it was "sad" to have matching trainers to Chris but now u lot are doing it too I want to!!
Tine- Is my brain frazzled or could your increased intake of sugeriness be contributing to the thrush too?
I haven't been able to re-join the tesco club coz it doesn't work on my webby and I keep forgetting to do it on mum or MIL's pooters  I shall try to remember tonight coz we're at MILs for birthday tea with "G to da 3" aka Chris's Great Granddad 'G'
