dooleys, have you looked at phil and teds? they arent cheap but my boss has one and she swears by it, its nice and narrow, the baby goes underneath and the older one goes on top, keeps baby nice and quiet when out and about cos he doesnt see a lot of whats going on and its really light!
I hate those prams with a passion.
I didn't have one but my youngest child has autism and severe learning difficulties so I've done lots of studying about early brain development and the importance of a child's brain being properly stimulated in the first year. I can only imagine what a year of staring at your sibling's bum does for developing neural pathways rather than looking into mum's face, or even being side by side with sibling and looking out into the big wide world!
I had a very narrow doorway in my old house, but was still able to fit the McLaren side by side twin buggy in without folding it up. They are much narrower than they look. Have you done the measurements Dooley or just eyeballed it? I never found any door that I couldn't get my side by side into with both babies still in, though it was my biggest fear before I bought one. The one in front, one behind models are really heavy to lift up and down steps and kerbs and not very maneouverable in my experience, so I'd definitey go for a side by side if you can.0 -

Also I wanted to let you know something I took in my labour bag that was wonderful. It was one of those evian aerosol sprays. It was a real help to have a spray of it on my face during the hard stages of labour. Gave hubby something useful to do too.
Best wishes to all. Hope it's alright to lurk from time to time. It's helping me.
Hiya Shoppie - you are always welcome hun - we love to take in waifs and strays (see how September Baby, Caz and Lou hang around...like same said, we are the cool kids)
Glad you are doing well and are open to having thoughts either way, once you have had a bit of time I am sure it will all become clear for you and OH.
Home Bargains are doing a cheapie version of that spray at the moment for 49p it's called kms sol perfection refreshing aqua spray. It is in a gold can (75ml) it almost looks like a small bottle of fake tan spray

Well he is using a duvet folded in half like a dog bed because right now he is puppy :rotfl: Both my boys have obsessions with behaving like dogs, so much so that DS1 used to pee against the fence when he was being toilet trained.
when my cousin was toilet training they stayed with us for a few weeks in the middle of the summer,we had the pool in the garden and he just ran around the garden naked for the whole time and when he needed to pee he would jump out the pool and shriek his way down the garden to the drain at the bottom screaming "i'm being a good boy weeing in the drain not the pool!!" even when he was older he carried on weeing in the drain right up til he was about 6 or 7 cos it saved him going upstairs to the toilet!!:rotfl:Mummy to

The wiganers are invading
all the wigan midwifery teams are named after writers not that most of the pregnant wiganers would have noticed that
Are you going to TLC for scans?
Have no date for scan yet. Though did have a letter from TLC about my maternity care. Am under the impression that if its not your first baby they just ignore you.0 -

Jesus girl, your falling apart!
Well not long to go now! :j
Wonder which one of us will give birth first
Definitely you. I'm thinking 25th April for me. You'll be around the 6th. Thats my guess anyway!
Get a lot of pain, numbness and swelling in my wrists, Physio said it was probably Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Probably spending too much time on here!
I really do feel like I'm falling apart. I'm happy with that though, at least the baby has been fine through out, despite my bad morning sickness, SPD, urine infection, wrist pain, silly blood pressure and everything else! Perhaps I just whinge a lot
Anyways, I was thinking - what do I do if I get offered the suite? There are two suites, one is for ladies like me, and the other one is for ladies who have lost a fullterm baby, as they tend to stay in longer and they want to put them somewhere quieter. If I get offered that room, should I refuse it? I feel like it'd be 'wrong' of me to have my (hopefully) healthy baby in the room they use for all the poor ladies who've lost babies?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
I'm back..
We're on TEAM BLUE! (95% sure anyway)
Everything is absolutely fine with the scan
Yay, thats fab!! Congrats on your baby boy, glad everything is fine
Can I ask how you feel about having a boy? Most people I've spoken to have been disappointed about me having a boy, and make out that having a girl is better. I'm really thrilled to be having a boy though!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Congratulations to all new arrivals and to elle on team blue!
We went out to the airport yesterday to find a last minute honeymoon and failed
So today I got onto the internet and booked us Thursday to Monday in Italy! We're flying into Rome and heading right down to Naples and from there to Pompeii to spend a day in faffing around the ruins, a day taking the train to the top of Vesuvius and then heading back to Rome, where I booked the ultimate bargain hotel (normal price €500/night; €119 for us with 7% Quidco) for the last night. Hurrah!Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
