Should probably also mention a lot of my reservations about children at funerals come from my mum - when her mother died young all the kids were still pretty young and back then it was normal to have the deceased laid out in the home before the funeral. My mum STILL has nightmares to this day about her mum being laid out in the livingroom and she feels so strongly about kids and funerals and such that it rubbed off on me no doubt :)

  • Thanks everyone, I'd not even considered how he'll react I was too busy thinking about what others would think. I've just spoken to her husband and he wants DS1 there, I can always take him out of the service and as there is no wake or do afterwards her husband wants him to attend if I don't mind. I'll speak to my husband tonight and make a decision from there

    Morning all,

After a few nights of full sleeps, I awoke again at 1.45am and read til about 3am when I finally dropped off again. Managed to finish my Twins and Multiple Births parenting book though!

Off swimming later - get to try my maternity costume for the first time. Want to stay supple for the birth, just don't fancy getting wet when its freezing!

  • Hi Krystal - I'm still here.

I went back to bed for an hour and have had a bath. Hubby wants to take me for lunch so who am I to argue!!

Was gonna bake a cake but I can always do that tomorrow

Have just remembered that my dates gave me an EDD of 6th March (Friday) but my 12 week scan put me on 2nd March (and as we know I have a slighlty larger than average baby)...so I figure he is not really late yet ;):D

Had a bit of a 'am I ever going to be attractive again' cry in the bath. Hubby not really taking to bringing baby on IYSWIM. I know its not personal (and that it is nothing to do with attractiveness - it's hardly like I am overcome with lust either!!) but there is only a little bit of a rational person left inside me at the moment.

Getting out of the house for a while will do me good...well at least it will stop me cleaning for a little while!

ETA - SLS - appointment with midwife tommorrow at noon for a sweep!!!

  • Weezl - where are you hiding???

If you are not having your baby boy I would be interested in your thoughts as to what to avoid because it slows down labour (a hot bath and laying on your back for example).

If you are having your baby boy - yay for you...hope it is all going well!!

phew took me ages to re-catch up!
Tine - I too have an itchy foof
I think mine is because of the dreaded 'p' word has made it a bit swollen so parts that don't normally come into contact with my nickers are doing so now and its aggravating the rather sensitive skin :(

Claire - Just something to think about I took Chris to his GtGranny's funeral he was 13mths so a bit smaller but I sat at the side next to the door that went to a side room (its a modern church so I suppose if it was a traditional big old one you could sit at the back) Chris was pretty good didn't make a peep through the service so I didn't need to nip through the door
His Gt Grandad wanted him to be there as although Granny had dementia she some how managed to always remember Christopher even when she couldn't remember her own daughter. He also took the focus during the wake and sort of lifted the mood - its hard to stay upset when a cute little boy is smiling at you ;)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.
