Alright, I'm buying a few bits from Amazon, and have the urge to buy baby things! Any suggestions for essential bits that aren't too scary?
An ear thermometer they don't look like they are to do with babies - do they?
I've got one like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Braun-4520-Thermoscan-Thermometer-66022780/dp/B0001D0LMS
It gets used just as much for my hypochondriac hubby as Chris :p

MFD I like that basket , bit out of my price range of £0 :D you gotta love the baby equipment swapping circle I've got

Ladies could you give me your opinions/first impressions of these scan places
This one is closest and cheeper ScanAssure - Our services
When I contacted them they said "Yes we can offer you a scan, it will fall under the category of a 3rd trimester reassurance scan. We should be able to get some black and white pictures but we usually check baby's development at the same time which does include some quick measurements. There is no extra charge for this but it is best practise. What is your due date or how many weeks are you now? The cost will be £80 and we can make it a pleasurable experience for both you and your son. How old is he?"

This one is still close and £15 more expensive Take A Peek 3D
When I contacted them they said "Yes the well being scan is a diagnostic 2d scan to check the growth and
well being of your baby. The cost is £95.
We measure the baby including the estimated weight of the baby at the
    time.
We check the fluid level around the baby.
We check the placenta and cord and check the efficiency of the blood
    flow to the baby.
We check the position of the baby and look at the internal organs - such
as stomach, kidneys, heart and bladder.
If you want a Saturday or evening appointment you should ideally book
the scan as soon as you decide you want one so we can give you the most
    choice of appointment times.
    Hope this helps!"
