*Rant Alert*
I'm in a bit of a bad mood. Went to MW to ask about seeing a physio for my back, ligament pain and what I hope os not the start of SPD... and she told me they wouldn't even concider seeing me till 24 weeks! So I've to suffer another 12 weeks (as they are going by the scan I had that said I was 5/3, making me 12/4 today). I did explain that I can't just stop caring for DS2 (I have to carry him a lot).
Also, do we have ante natal checks anymore? Like urine testing, BP etc? Or are we just left till we are 24 weeks and therefore 'properly' pregnant? The day I was at EPAS (day I found out I was preg and had scan to find out if my coil was there or not) they did urine and BP check. Since then I've seen mw twice, had bloods taken at 10 weeks and that's it. Oh and some of my blood results have been 'lost'. I don't need iron though.
Yes, I am angry that I carried pee in my bag twice for no reason, this time she didn't even look at my notes!
By gosh on the 11th I'm going to have a LOT to say!!!!

Getting my exemption card is proving difficult. I asked the midwife on Moday but she didn't have any forms and suggested I popped into my GP's and ask there. Went in today, got the form from receptionist, needed my NHS number which was on my notes in the car, went and filled in out and took it back for the doc to sign. Doctor was at desk and said she couldn't do it without seeing me to confirm pregnancy.
They know I am preg, they made me do a wee sample to confirm and I had my first booking in appoinment there
The receptionist was a bit nicer and said leave it with me and I'll sort it out, but it means I have to go back for it, which will have to be one night next week after work :rolleyes:0 -
...oh and the wee, I get mine back each time, but the MW do handle to bottles themselves.
Bloods, I had them taken at my booking in appointment at 10 weeks and after my 12 week scan. I've had my downs test today some another blood test, so 3 lots in 17 weeks
and Sami I see you have been lured into the DFW daily chat. I lurk, too scared to actually post0 -
tia - sounds terrible.
We have our wee checked at every appointment with the MW and every scan and antenatal clinic here...but I don't think everywhere is the same.
The moment I got any pelvic pain I was referred straight away 'just in case' and because sometimes the appointments can take a while...although I think I might have been over 20 weeks by then.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That's hilarious!! You should have said have a look at my notes on your system and you will see!
At my docs they don't do anything to confirm...in fact, the first time you get any confirmation from anyone other than yourself is when you go for your 12 week scan (and you breathe a sigh of relief that you haven't been imagining it!!)please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

i have no idea what they're meant to test for/check and when so i cant help you either, after my booking appointment at 7 weeks (when she couldnt be bothered to take bloods cos i was the last appointment of the day so wrote out all the forms and gave them to me and told me to go to a outpatient walk in blood clinic which was a good 2 hours wait!!) i had a scan/bloods at 12 weeks and then didnt see anyone til 19 weeks, i made the appointment myself as i was a bit confused but thought it wouldnt hurt to have a check up but the midwife was of a different opinion, told me sternly the appointment was a complete waste of time as i was due to have my 20 week scan the next week and she would have to see me again after that! its a good job i have internet access and have been able to research what should happen cos i've had to prompt them every step of the way, the few times i've rung them with a question i get made to feel like i'm disturbing her and being fussy!:mad:Mummy to

emlou thats terrible! I can't believe your midwives are that un-helpful, i am presuming this is your first too  Just to put your mind at ease I had a MW check at 16 weeks, so it does sound like you were right to book an appointment.0
