Hi girls
I need to come off the list I'm afraid. Just back from Early Pregnancy Unit and I have had a missed miscarriage. There was no heartbeat and was small for date so probably stopped beating a week or 2 ago. I am now hoping it will come away naturally or I will need to have a little op in another couple of weeks.
I'm OK about it. It wasn't planned and have always thought well if it's meant to be it's meant to be but obviously it wasn't. Getting pregnant at 40 I expected it not to be plain sailing and it is better to lose it now than later or have to make a horrible decision if finding out there was a serious problem.
Good luck all with your pregnancies I was just starting to feel like I was getting to know a little about you all. Hope you all have wonderful healthy babies, blooming pregnancies and wonderful births.
I'll be able to get back to my diet and exercise plan now.

Still getting a few cramps and pains. Seems to be okay when I'm led in bed, but if I'm walking around it hurts a bit. Tried making the bed and carrying a load of washing, and that really hurt. Don't know what to do - the Doctor was quite off when I questioned having an internal. Keep swinging between thinking I should phone them again, to thinking its probably just stress and worrying is only making it worse! Baby is having a quiet day as well. I know kick charts aren't recommeneded anymore, but how can I tell what is 'normal' for me, when he is either moving all the time, or hardly moving at all?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

Does it say this in the instruction book? I had a flick through and didn't see anything, I did wonder though as I want to carry on using it. I'm used to regular exercise but finding I don't feel up to the gym by the time I finish work, but can manage 30 mins or so on the Wii Fit. My thinking is that as long as it's not uncomfortable then it's better than no exercise at all, but if I'm wrong then I would stop of course.
On another note, I had a little unscheduled trip to the hospital today. Haven't really felt baby move since Tuesday and only then was very little, usually I feel it all day, so I rang the midwife at my surgery to see if it's anything I should be concerned about. She said yes, if you don't feel it move for at least 1 whole day then it needs looking into, and to get off the phone and call the delivery suite to let them know I'm coming in to be checked over, and get there asap. The one day I don't have my notes on me, as last night I took them out my handbag to fit something else in there when we went out for dinner, and forgot to put them back in this morning, so had to drive 45 mins home from work to get them, called the hospital and they said get there right away. DH all worried at work and insisted he leave work and come with me, even though I said I was hoping it's all ok and just nothing really, but he came too. Was put in Triage as soon as I got there, ahead of a heavily pregnant woman clearly in discomfort who was not impressed and gave me and DH a load of verbal abuse, which although understandable, wasn't nice. Midwife took a while to find heartbeat, but it was there loud and clear, checked my BP, urine etc, all ok.
Turns out baby was just being lazy and not wriggling round as much as normal, but also s/he was laying right the way back so wouldn't feel it as much anyway in that position. Phew! I wasn't particularly worried until the midwife and lady on the phone at the hospital kept saying get there asap, made it sound really urgent and stuff, so I felt a bit of an idiot when there was nothing wrong - I wouldn't have gone in if they hadn't told me to!! But as DH said, better to get it checked than keep on as normal and miss something being wrong until it's too late. Typical baby, then starts rummaging around and poking me as soon as we leave the ward and hasn't stopped all day.0 -

From my trip to the hospital I just mentioned, they said to me when you start feeling kicking properly, there should be at least 10 kicks a day regardless of how active it usually is, so if you regularly can't count 10 kicks a day for a while then let the midwife know and she will ask some questions and take action if needed from there. That was the advice she gave me anyway.0
