  • Digital or Analogue baby listening device? Camera or no camera?

Right. With DS we bought camera and an analogue listening device. Camera is pretty crap and all wireless devices in the house interfere with it - the TV/Vid sender we use to send the sky picture upstairs causes ghosting on the screen which looks VERY scary and as if people are inside DS room!! We stopped using it pretty much straightaway!! Won't use it for new baby.

As for the digital V analogue well it depends. We had analogue and OH hated it. It buzzed at night and it drove him mad. We have now got BT 150 (amazon) and its amazing and so so quiet. I am hoping to buy another one for new baby and set them on different channels.

Are we the only saddo parents who are planning on setting up a proper webcam (secure btw before anyone says anything) with a laptop so Roo's grandparents can watch Roo on webcam on msn - being as they all live abroad :(
But it also means I can sit downstairs later on when she's a little older with the webcam with sound turned on and keep an eye on her ;) I'm an IT geek... deal with it! :P

  • Evening ladies.

Had my first labour scare this afternoon...not that it was a scare because I am praying for it but I thought things might be making a move.

I am feeling absolutely and massively pregnant, I can't sit for long because it is really uncomfortable. I had terrible backache and super strong braxton hicks.

Hubby is still convinced Bubba is on the way...we shall see.

Caz - I am so glad you went with Erin, that got my vote (although I think I was the only one!)

SB - you know you want another!!!

Shoppie - I am thinking about you hun. Take care.

Tine, I don't blame you at all... I often think it would be nice to spy on Aimee playing when she's upstairs... She always sounds like she's having loads of fun but stops as soon as she catches you watching...

I have a set of tomy monitors I used for Aimee (and my aunt used when my uncle had a bypass) will probably crack them out again... But tbh when baby's small enough to need monitoring it'll be with me and when it's bigger I'm sure it will be heard from all round the house...

  • Hey guys any advice RE kettles??

My kettle keeps fusing the entire sockets in the house so we are going to buy another one. My OH really wants one of those that does boiling water in 3 seconds but I am sure i have read that you can't make up bottles with them as it's not ACTUALLY boiling water. I am off to google but I wondered if anyone knew anything??

I got my kettle from the Argos bargain clearance place... It cost about a fiver...

MFD, are you bouncing on your birthing ball (Or hubby) tonight?! I'm sure things will be moving sooner or later...

Shelvis I wouldn't get one - we had one and it was carp... and no the water isn't boiling per se so doubt you can make up bottles with it.
Ours gradually got colder and colder over a couple of months and eventually we gave up and took it back - apparently we weren't the only ones... they had about 6 of them behind the counter. All returns with faults :rotfl: we haven't decided to risk a new one yet so have returned to the old kettle again :) I like the ones where I can see the water boiling ;)

If you live in a hard water area the ones with built in brita filter are brill. I think there are some that do the cup of water in a few seconds, energy saving ones.
