    morning all!

Late pregnancy insomnia eh? Don't you just love it?!:o:rotfl:

Sami, I really see where you're coming from about wanting to get your head round the gender of your baby. I was really hoping for this one to be a girl (for various reasons) and was quite thrown when we were told he's male. For me, I want to give him the best warmest welcome to the world I can, and to have had time to get my head round him being male will really help me to do that.:D

I work in mental health, and I've seen a fair few people left hurting cos their parents needed/wanted them to be the other gender, so it was really important for me not to do that!

MFD, my midwife is a bit the same about size issues as your inept consultant. Fergus always measures 2 cm below where he should be, and if he drops below that we could lose our chance to be at home in labour. So she always greets me with a 'well I can tell you've grown!' which she means reassuringly, I think;). But it's weird as a woman for that to have become a compliment! All our lives we try to be little and petite (or is that just me?!) and then suddenly in pregnancy, we need to become proud of and happy with bigness and roundness. Perplexing stuff!

The feminist in me is frustrated with the consultant for giving DH all the eye contact!

Birthing pool assembled and airing. Covered in piccies of underwater cartoon characters. My pal who owns it wanted it to be dual purpose IYSWIM?! :D Took DH 2 hrs to pump it up. Partner of pool owner got it up in 15 mins, so I'm glad we tested that before banking on it being a quick job! DH is now worried that stagnant water will have left bugs all over the inside of the hosepipe, and that these will be in the birth water.I tried to reassure him by saying that fergus has been swimming around in his own wee for months, but this did not go down too well!

Today we have carpet fitter, decorator, delivery of electric sockets, bed delivery (ours) and my mum coming. Quite a lot of juggling for my tired preg brain! :)

Hope you're all ok, I keep wanting to say things specifically to folk, but then forgetting who said what! Sorry! Hugs to all who'd like one.

    Love Weezl x

P.S- 7 a.m now, done the woodwork in the little hallway now and half the skirtings in the birthing room! YAY! :)

Aw durham, how are you feeling? Are you desperate for labour to start or not too uncomfortable yet? :)

  • Morning all :D

Just wanted to nip in and say hi as I've not been around. 20 week scan on Thursday which I now can't wait for, I just want it now!!

Apart from that all OK - Bit shocked at how little weight people have put on during prenancy, I've already put on 12lbs and I'm at 20 weeks - is this right  (it probally should be less but I can't stop eating :o )

Anyway, is anyone off to the baby show this weekend?

not overly stressed about it yet, or not that uncomfortable either, but I would ideally like to go into labour naturally so i can be at home for as long as possible, if i go in myself I can have it in local mlu, otherwise its an induction at hospital unit, and it seems to take so long when your in hospital if you get induced.

Morning gang - well we're feeling a little better in Camp Roo this morning - resting lots yesterday definitely made a difference it would seem.
Work finally replied to my suggestion of one day a week in the office with "well you can do 2 in the office and 1 in the other office" - ehhhh no.... doctor doesn't even like me doing 1! She'll flip if I tell her I have to do 3!
So going to call her later today and get signed off sick for a couple of weeks. What DOES nark me is that my manager worded her mail so that it comes across that she's not yet decided whether to give me my annual leave that I have booked or not... so basically I am being held ransom over my annual leave! I'm not amused!

Oh well - will leave the mail a couple of hours and then draft something very official looking and very unamused at being held ransom over my leave *insert incredibly angry smiley*

    And caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalm :)

Hows everyone feeling today? Labour vibes to those who need them, cuddles to those who want those and a huge hi to everyone else :)

  • MFD, Thats exactly the reason I hate hospital consultants... I had loads of them telling me about my godzilla sized baby last time... I was almost disappointed that she wasn't a 12lber! I have a growth scan Wed for this one and if it comes out average I think I'm going to decline any further scans... I'm sure it will come out when it's ready at a size appropriate... And if the Dr tries to talk to hubby and not me I think I'll be inclined to point out which one of us is pregnant! I hate condescending Morons!

Sls, I love Caitlin... It's what ours will be if we have a girl!...

My little girl is a Caitlin, I think C A I T L I N is the best way to spell it, Although most people automatically go to spell with a K and Y when i tell them her name! I chose the 'original' version of the name as it is an Irish variant of Kathleen/Catherine xx
If google doesn't know it, how should i?
