Brilliant! Things are the same for us! We are looking to complete within 2 weeks now! The vendors solicitor sent our solicitor a letter saying he'd had a higher cash offer (possibly blagging) and if we didnt complete by the end of March he would go with the other offer. Our solicitor has said no probs, lets just get it done asap, so we sign on Monday and hopefully complete end of month..yay!

Glad you got sorted in the end.

You never know, in a couple of months time, when you are settled in to your new home, Abbey might decide they are prepared to lend to you after all :rotfl:

  • I've just got goose pimples through reading this thread....

We made a full application to the Post Office (or B&W, or Bank of Ireland...) on Tuesday after being accepted in principle for a remortgage. Does anyone have any experience of how long they take? And do they do a physical survey/ valuation, or just an electronic one?
