Update.....Abbey have asked for a breakdown of net income between OH and his dad (they are in business together). That was sent today so we should get an answer in the next couple of days.0

Broker just rang to say that Abbey have a backlog of applications waiting to go to the underwriter so it will be next week before we hear anything else. Was hoping to know before i went on holiday but its not looking that way. Is 8 weeks and no mortgage decision rediculous or quite normal at the mo?0

Hi i am fed up of having to ring our broker to find out whats what, we still dont know anything i have never known anything like it i just wish we had done it ourselves direct. Our buyers are ready to exchange contracts and we are no furthur on than we were 5wks ago, and untill our offer of mortgages have been done the solicitor will not start the searches which i suppose is understandable so we dont lose any money.0

Just rang broker, our file is now being dealt with at the abbey but it will be towards middle of next week before we will hear anything.0

After waiting 6wks to hear from abbey we have cancelled the application we are so fed up of waiting, so we are now applying to the nationwide does anyone know how long it is taking for everything to go through with them. Please dont tell me 6wks lol.

No, about five and a half weeks and you should be sorted :rotfl:
No, in all seriousness, Nationwide are usually pretty good. I got an offer out from them for a client last week in four days from start to finish.I am a Mortgage adviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks, do you think that because we have two searches on our credit report with the abbey that it would go against us for our new application one was done on 11/01 and the other 27/02.0

Hopefully, the connection you have with Nationwide will counter that.
