That's really impressive - 80% for your first TMA!
You might find it is just a quirk of your tutors but with that mark you haven't been penalised too much.
Well done. No pressure on you for your next TMA :rotfl:

I got mine for W100 back yesterday. I got 80, which I know is a decent mark for a first TMA, but I was a bit put out at being marked down for the use of quotes. In all my previous (non-OU) study, you got marked down for NOT using quotes to illustrate your point!
Well done.
My tutor has advised us that she will take the full two weeks allowed. (And I haven't received any feedback from the test TMA I sent either.)
Probably the marking down for using quotes is that the first TMA was a lot about explaining in your own words. I didn't use quotes as such but did give the Act section references. (Bet I don't get 80% though!)0 -

The OU often wants you to do things at a simpler level than you would experience at a traditional university, particularly at the start.0 -
Thanks for the advice and nice comments, guys.
I'll see what happens with the next one.

anyone know if you would get a financial award for course fees for a 2nd year? as I got help this year, hoping to get both courses done before Oct.
Kim
Hi Kim,
You can get financial awards for all courses required to acheive your first degree provided that you meet the criteria. Im doing my second year of study at the minute and have recived a course fees grant for both years that has allowed me to study. Hope that helps

I have just received my course materials today, as a first timer to the OU, I am both excited and nervous and feeling a little like 'what have I done'. Is this a usual feeling when first starting out? I feel rather nervous0
