Yes - Feb 09 start. There is only one start a year. Have you got your eTMA01 ready to submit by midnight on Friday?

    (I didn't try the Y166 as I was trying to be money-saving!)

I was wondering where you were Penguin! Remember reading a thread quite a while ago when I was thinking of doing W100. Did you delay for a year?

I had a baby the day before one of eTMAs was due - as I leave everything to the last minute, it was the most rushed assignment ever and yet for some reason that was my highest mark. The one where I asked for an extension, I got the lowest.

Hi Floxxie - yes I was going to start Feb 08 but my son was diagnosed with Autism in Dec 07 so I decided to postpone for a year as I work full time and wasnt sure how much additional care DS would need as he got older (he was only 2 1/2 when diagnosed. So decided in November to do the openings course to see how I managed time wise as well as to get back into the swing of studying and have now commited myself!

Talk about last minute though with the assignment! I bet it was one of the best because you didnt overthink it if that makes sense - I have a horrible habit of doing something that was probably fine and then changing it a thousand times over!

Tma01 nearly done but will probably change it again and again! Went to a tutorial and loads of people seem to be steaming ahead which got me quite worried but I am up to date with the study calendar will try and get a bit ahead in case anything unexpected arises but didnt want to go too mad!

My lovely, lovely parents are paying for the course (but I paid for the openings) as they were expecting me to go to Uni at 18 and had money saved up for that (I had a baby instead which went down well!) x x

    That makes sense Penguin.

Don't worry about what others are up to. There is one person in my group who has read the text books that we are given. You don't read law books through, especially when they are statute books!!

Seems you have the best of both worlds - child and parents paying for your study!

    Good luck.

You don't have to wait for the official course start date, you can start studying now. The course forum won't be open until the start date, but there may be an OUSA forum for your subject that you can use in the meantime. All the OUSA forums are listed under OUSA signpost.
  • Hello peeps, I've done no previous study with OU, but currently doing K225 Perspectives on mental health, and in April I am starting D171 Counselling

Loving it so far! For now, I'm planning on studying towards an Open degree. I want to retrain into advising, so I am picking all the ones I feel are best. I plan to also study something to do with understanding childre, and also religious studies. I would like to do a short story writing course for fun too if I can
