i received my course materials today! the books look amazing and i am really looking forward to getting stuck in!!

can i pick the brains of previous OU'ers?? my course start date is 3rd oct, is it easy enough to get a decent head start? i think i may struggle with certain parts of my course so think the more i get done now, the more time i can dedicate to my nitemare areas!

  • I am currently half way through W100 eTMA7, and for all I've enjoyed the course, I'll be glad when it's over and I actually have some free time until February! :D

You can certainly start on your reading, but all of the course content may not yet be online - best to check. :)

That's great hearing that you have enjoyed it Misty Blue. I'm about to start reading for my last TMA and whilst I'm doing that, preparing my revision (and doing it) for my exam in the middle of October. Have signed up for a new course starting at the beginning of October and another starting in February.

Am now starting to realise how much time an OU degree takes ;) It's a pity they don't have the same academic year as traditional universities; at least I would have some time off!

I bought a new chair today for my OU study :j

And some of my course books for MST121 came. I had a quick flick through them :eek:They've sent me some bits from the middle of the course, though, so hopefully by the time I get there it won't be so scary.

:hello: I'm signing up for the K101 health and social care in Oct. I'm hoping it will be enough to get me into uni in 2010.

I found that the wordcount was far too low, but I got my best mark on that TMA.

I breezed through the other two with top marks, but am unsure which avenue to go down with this one. I've got my opening gamibit and conclusion sorted...Obviously I have to mention methods of saving for retirement...besides that I'm banging my head against a brick wall!!

    :)

Def agree re tradational uni term times, my current course was Feb -Oct, we had 1 free week at Easter, 1 in Summer hols.....not pratical, when dd has 7 weeks off, so tma05 is now a subsitute, doing B201. x

Hows it going, if your struggling with the middle, try looking out of the box, have they give you guidelines as to what age group your based the saveings on, dependant on age, would need/use different methods.

Hope I havent added to the confusion. xx
