yeah we are chain-free and have deposit and mortgage ready to go - so we can basically move as quickly as the vendors need (and seeing as the house is sitting empty - i would imagine very quickly)!
I hope that you husband repeated that when he made your offer - you ARE very attractive buyers. Depends who you are up against and what they offered.
So you just have to wait for the EA to get back to you?

makes a change to look on the bright side of the housing market instead of it being doom and gloom!May: Camping set for 4, 2 books.0 -
It is reassuring to see other people in the same position as us! I assumed that if we found a house we liked, the vendor would bite our hands off in times like this.
However, it hasn't turned out like that. We viewed a house we loved on Saturday which has been on the market for a year with no offers and no price drop. Another couple were looking round it at the same time. I put a low but sensible offer in this morning after a second viewing last night. The estate agent said they had received another offer 10 minutes earlier! I'm now sitting by the phone, waiting. I've been lucky so far, selling my flat quickly for a decent price in the Autumn, maybe my luck is running out...0 -

Hi lauren,
Have you had an offer accepted? How did it go?! Good luck with the mortgage application.0 -
we have been told by the EA that no decision will be made until tomorrow as the vendor is considering both offers (somebody put in an offer on Tue). just trying to keep my mind busy as there is nothing we can do now but WAIT!0

Well, it's all happened a lot quicker than I expected! My first offer was rejected, but the second one went through - it's a chain free sale, so fingers and toes crossed, it should all go through fairly quickly.0
