Hellloooo to everyone
PLM - I forgot to say that I voted for you twice too, good luck.
Jamtart - How's your Mum today - any better?
Hayley11 - WELCOME on Board from a "non-gifty" but "getting thrifty" girl.
Feeling better today, the "cloud" has lifted a bit and am feeling more upbeat.
No pancakes for me today (only found out from you all that it was pancake day and I already have dinner de-frosting) boooo, I love lemon and sugar pancakes.
Well, I haven't done any pressie shopping but I did receive a cheque for £109 from Thomas Cook, who messed up a water taxi transfer when I went to Venice last year - very unexpected, I thought they would just send me a voucher (they sent a £25 voucher too!), so that's in the "pressie money pot", so about £200 in there now, not bad for February and considering that the majority of our family birthdays are in Jan, Feb and March and they are already bought.
Also got my M&S vouchers from Mopay, so doing well this month.0 -
Hello everyone
I wasn't around over the weekend and didn't feel well yesterday (I popped into cardmaking but then felt unwell and had to walk away from the pc). I hope everyone is ok. I'm just off to make a coffee then I'll catch upwith the last few days posts and send a proper reply.0 -
hello to everyone and happy pancake day!
scattymam hope dd is feeling better. my eldest had chickenpox when he was 15 months. with ds2 everytime there is chickenpox around...nothing! I think he must be immune to it. good luck with the tidying and also with the viewing - hope they like it!
rusty pleased your OH's interview went well - fingers crossed!
aurora - glad you managed to follow my instructions and post a picture. I'm in shock that you manged to follow them as I am the most non technical person around - just ask rusty about the SS till in Tescos:rotfl:
goochie glad you are feeling a bit better today. well done on all the money you have in your pressie money pot and also the vouchers.

£60 deposit paid :j £100 paid:j £40 paid:j0 -
Scattymam's post has inspired me. Anyone up for a 15-minute weekly de-clutter and organise?? I often find myself saying "I haven't got time" so piles of paper get left on my desk for weeks on end. I always think "tidy home, tidy mind" However, I think 15minutes could easily be fitted in a week to everyones hectic schedules and I bet it is amazing what could be done in 15 minutes! Who is with me?! Even if you just sort one drawer out in 15 minutes, you never know what goodies you might find in it...and then it would be tidy too! My makeup drawer ALWAYS needs tidying and I never get around to it!! I
know how much you lot like challenges, and I feel this could be a good way forward for the thrifty gifty girls who pride themselves on being super organised (ahem!) for every occasion!

done - phew - knackered, there is still loads of sorting to do but it looks ok for the viewers - just need to find a single duvet cover and make the bed (makeshift bed, it's a campbed with the sides of her old cot hidden under the duvet). There's loads of stash stuffed under the bed. I need to get a system going...oh my god - just sounded like my mother there!
Here we are - proof:
and the organized bit (kind of)
sorry about the huge photos!!!
dd's still got a temp. but she's just her usual bouncy self.0 -
well done you!!! get well soon scattydaughter

maybe we could meet up and travel part way 'up north' together!!???
Hiya furrypig

Have been invited to Lanzarote for two weeks in july, i ummed and arrhed but i have decided not to go as i want to meet up with the thrifty girls in birmingham.
I am allowed to go as mum said she would drive me up there if she didn't have to work.:D :j :j
I will have to see the route as knowing me i will get lost haha. Think i will need you there furrypig as well i'm a bit of a dizzy when it comes to travelling alone..:rotfl:
I was planning to do all these things yesterday like going to the job centre as soon as i was dressed, but instead i was wrapped in OH dressing gown and duvet cover and also fully dressed:rolleyes: Why me?? lol
Still as soon as i get paid i will be booking single tickets to and from birmingham. I'm just going to look through the rest of the posts before going onto facebook to have a ganders :rotfl:lol
