pinkladymel wrote: »Hey everyone,
I went to Toys R Us today and needed to call my sister about some DVD's that were cheap. She sounded teary and when I asked what was wrong she was hesitant but then blurted she had just come back from the doctors for her smear results and she has the first stages of cervical cancer. To say my whole world came crashing down would be an understatement. I am so good at dealing with major problems but then I thought about our lives together, I practically raised her and I don't know how I could face my life without her...I just sobbed in the middle of the shop. On the way home I popped into Tesco and instantly see Jade Goody plastered across all the glossy magazines. I'm good now just as long as I don't visit the memories and concentrate on a positive future.
If I can get over cancer, so can she.
Just wanted to let you know I may be away for a bit so you don't think I have left you x
have sent 2 pm's and lots of love xxx0 -
Well Mhags enjoy your last day in your 30's, I think it will be a busy one!
Sorry Shelley re your news how devastating for your friend can't imangine it feeling all teary with all this sad news. I have had a hysterectomy so can relate to that side of things and I am happy to give you/her any advice etc from that perpective but her other loss is just terrible.0 -

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I was so worried about my grandmother and now she is on the mend it's such a relief.
Jamtart - I did send her the balloons, thanks! She was particularly delighted with them, they arrived during visiting hours and she was the envy of the other old dears. I suspect (because I am very cynical) that it was the attention as much as the balloons that she liked so much.
PLM - what awful news, I'm sorry. I was about that age and had an abnormal Pap smear back - the treatment was unpleasant but my smears have come back normal for the past seven years now and since I'm percolating an infant nothing in there was permanently affected. I wish you all the best and her a speedy recovery.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

pinkladymel wrote: »Thanks everyone. I am alright and I don't want to be the elephant in the room or anything. She is only 21 and I just feel as though it never ends. Life is unpredictable, i'm trying my hardest every day to appreciate everyone i've got and be a better person but sometimes I feel like it is just never enough. Fate.
What has everyone got planned this weekend?
Sending you and your sister lots of love and hugs x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Thanks for all your kind messages about my friend's friend. I do know her but not that well but I can't help but feel for her at this time. I haven't heard anymore so I don't know if her daughter has passed away. I will keep you updated.
