Thinking the christmas swap shop thing would work on here cos a lot of us know each other now - but was wondering about the hamper thing that got started on another thread if dishonest people would jump on the band wagon just to get something for free and not do the same thing in return!!!

Hugs to everyone today! Mel I love you to bits, your honesty and open heart is refreshing. xxx cancer is a crappy horrible thing, what gets me is there are supposed drugs and cures out there, but nobody will fund them because they are too expensive!!! I try not to think about it - but it does scare me when I read about families where the women all have contracted breast cancer cos I think that will be me and it just seems so out of peoples hands. My mother was so healthy, she never drank, smoked, she was still riding her bike at 70 years old and going to the gym, she ate well and organically, she was active in so many things but yet it got her. Phew.....I could rant about it for ages...I am going to counselling at a charity in our area called cancer connexions, I have had one bereavement counselling session so far but I can see it will be very helpful. The counsellor knew my mam from the charity and she said it would be an honour to work with me, wub. If there are things that really bother you about dying, about cancer, about loss, counselling is nothing to be ashamed of, and can just help you get your head straight about things. (failing counselling sessions the thrifty gifty thread is the next best place to rant and talk and get advice, you're all brilliant).

I won some bargains on ebay yesterday as I have 4 little boys birthdays this next month. I won 4 3d books with 3d glasses for 99p - 25p a book, and I got a lovely lord of the rings jigsaw book for 1.04 that I know one boy and his dad will love. Bargains. Will be neutral for them by 10.00 tonight as 2 of my 3 ebay items have had bids on them.

    **Advent swap info**
The advent swap is usually announced and organised in october but I know how you girls like to be organised :D I know we will never ever part ways.. not even the lovely Shevs (Who I am disowning for going to Las Vegas!) so if you know you will want to be in it then you can start snooting for bargains now and putting things away, I suppose.

So.. thrifty gifty advent swap.. will take place in october.. somehow!! So that every single girl on this thread who felt like they couldn't get the christmas magic last year.. will be overwhelmed with love and excitement this year.

Don't forget there is also the hamper swap being discussed right now run by Lunar, I don't want to poach her people or anything.

oh mel, I wasn't aiming the counselling thing just at you, it was meant for everyone as so many of us on here have told stories about how cancer has had an influence in our lives...I think you should be a counsellor mel, have you ever thought of something like that - I looked into it once and the courses are quite short for training to be a counsellor

Hi everyone, I havn't been able to get on here for a few days properly so hace just managed to read back a couple of pages (can't believe how quick this thread moves:p )

Just wanted to send hugs to all who need them and say that those of you feeling down, I too feel like that sometimes, I suffered with pnd after I had my twins and was on medication for 6 months but havn't been since, however I do feel like it is still there underlying but I think the kids somehow keep me sane (sounds weird really but you can't lie in bed with 3 active littlies) anyway my bestest top tip is to take each day as it comes as a fresh blank canvas, if you feel overwhelmed today or feel that you are not on top form, tomorrow is another day....;)

On the subject of that horrible lady in the car park with her son, well done PLM for calling the police, it really makes my blood boil, If I see anything like that it stays with me for ages, no wonder it made you feel sad...you are such a kind and funny lady (funny ha ha not weird:p ) think you and your Lee should be on TV!

On the subect of wheelchairs etc. my neighbour has recently broken her leg and has a cast on, twice now she has been to Asda and her dh has pushed her round in her wheelchair and she is absolutely gobsmacked at how people treat her, some look at her as if to say, 'why are you in there' like she has some sort of priveledge, some act like she isn't there and some speak to her like she'sa 3 year old...she said it has given her a real insight into being disabled...

All the talk of Xmas is making me feel quite festive :D

Oh and Jamtart, I can't believe how well you described me, although I don't like opera so that bit wasn't quite as accurate lol

I have waffled too much, I will try to read back more so I can catch up better....

Hurray I finished the giant creme egg easter hat for my son. It's huge :rotfl::rotfl:Had to laugh though he sneezed as I was taking the photo and the egg came flying off his head :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I laughed so much he started crying bless him.
