I had a really nice day today - I told my mil I was pregnant and she was thrilled - tons of people came and gave me hugs at church today - they all loved my mam so much - don't know what I was worried about they made me feel really special. and dd was really really well behaved - made me so proud. My husband and dd picked me tons of daffodillas as dd calls them so very mse and we went out for tea.

This is what I put together for my Mum for mothers day, its full of time delay products that she loves.
Everytime I got a voucher in boots for £5 off time delay I'd get something, a few were even got from the clearance section, so I probably only spent about £10 in cash on about £60 woth of products. Unfortunately, with the last lot of vouchers you could only spend them on the more expensive time delay products so unless they alter them I would have to pay a lot more to do this again.

I'm doing a similar thing with the No7 vouchers for my sil for christmas.

    Xmas Saver!
Sounds like weve all had a fab day.
Same as everyone here my heart goes out to Jade Goodys family, and of course her little boys, even in her last days she put her family 1st, telling her mum to get a fake tan and have her teeth done.
In all honestly when she first become famous, I thought it was a jump on the bandwagon, and push everything we can, but since she had the cancer everything she has done, she did for her family, putting the boys future first, I think that kept her going. Cancer is an awful disease and I just wish more than anything that one of these days a cure will be found, I know that over the years advances have been made, from my families view, when my sister died in 1969, she died of willms disease (spelt something like that), a cancer that attacks the kidney and then goes through the body, a child now would have a better chance of surviving it.
I hope that the pressure and the publicity that has occured from Jades illness that they (the goverment), bring the age back to 20 for smear tests. I and I'm sure most people hate it when that letter appears on the doorstep saying time to come in....... me more than anything as I'm on yearly recalls, I had precancerous cells, back in 2000, I use to put of my smears I hate them, but I was lucky that my dodgy cells were found and treated, thou as a result of that I'll be on yearly recalls for about 10-15 years, but touch wood every recall has been clear. Of which reminds me I have the letter on the todo list...... Go after holidays.
Sorry for the babble, but if one person doesnt put off their test then my ramblings be worth it.

    xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I agree so much mum2one. I had a smear at the obligatory aged 19, and haven't had one since because they increased the age to 25 the year after, so I am due one this year. A friend asked for one the other day and the doc said "ugh this Jade Goody media frenzy has sparked all this messing off, you aren't due for one until you are 25"! So I'm loathed to go and ask but know I should really. I hate them but I would most definitely hate any form of cancer more, I just think it is so wrong for them to change the age.

Jammy this isn't how it works!! Or so I thought!

If someone has had a smear pre 25 in this area then they will stay in the recall system and continue to have 3 yearly smears!! I know as I used to do loads but now they are mainly done at gp surgeries and not in clinic.

I don't know exact details about Jades cancer but she was in the age group to have smears and gnerally the really agressive cervical cancers are not the ones that are picked up in smear tests in young people ie they are not preventable. At least that's what the retrospective anaylsis said that changed the way we offered smears etc etc.

    Morning all
I really need to book a smear too I don't think I've had one for 4 years so overdue now. Not feeling too grand today I've had terrible nausea all week and had the same last month a week before my period was due. I've never had this before and its awful!!! Harri woke up this morning and had pooed the bed so the poor little mite is not going to school today, OH said he has a dodgy belly too :( I was hoping he was going to do some gardening today while I do all the cleaning :(

Not going anywhere today have too much housework to do. Really don't feel like it but i must crack on.

D Day for our dog is Weds and I'm starting to relive all the emotions again. Dreading it and i'm back in work Weds night.

Hels - i admire your dedication going to aerobics I could never face going

Sylphraven - your hamper is lovely :T

Still haven't finished the easter egg hat but may try and do that this evening.

thanks for the info furrypig. I definitely haven't had one since I was 19, no recall letter or anything, boo the doctor, but boo me even worse as I should have just gone and asked for one. It is definitely on my to do list!

  • Good morning lovely ladies

Thanks for your message Shelley - thinking of you, this week is going to be tough, PM me if you would like to talk. x

PLM - that's awful about Emily's toys, people just don't think of the effects of their actions, or don't care. As for the Fertile Thread  I hope not.

MHagster - yay your OH is home, hope you had a lovely weekend and day with him today.

    Scattymam - CONGRATULATIONS. :j

Welcome back Shevs - I hope you get a dream job really soon, I have just been made redundant and it is very hard out there at the moment, there are no jobs that match my requirements at the moment, but I'll keep moving forward. PM me if you want to chat.

Choccy & PLM - I broke my toe years ago, whilst trying on a pair of shoes in a shop, I stood up to look in the mirror and my toe broke, it was the most painful thing, and I had to buy the shoes so I could go to the hospital, as I couldn't bear to take the shoe off :rotfl: . There is nothing they can do for a broken toe unfortunately.

Hope all you Mums had a lovely Mother's Day.

I was really sad to hear about Jade as well, I agree with what most of you say, I wasn't a fan of hers, but admire her strength and courage to do as much for her boys as she could before she died, very sad.
