:j:j Happy Mother's Day :j:j
Good morning girls - I've read with interest all your birthing stories and it brought back so many memories of mine.
Having a good day so far - OH slept in the spare room last night after being so drunk that he was vomiting, so I snuggled up with Jake last night and had a lovely sleep. Made OH get up with the boys this morning and he is cooking lamb dinner, well it is Mother's Day :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I had some lovely earrings and some worry dolls (!) x
Going to make some cards with the boys for their nans this morning and then off to visit the in laws.
Sorry to hear about Jade Goody dying this morning - ironic that it had to happen on Mother's Day her poor children and familyLittle Miss Chatterbox

Happy Mother's Day everyone
Is very sad news about Jade.
It was DS1's birthday party and not mine (my b'day is November). His birthday isn't actually until Friday so we will have another day of presents and celebrations :T I love birthdays! The party was fab, manic but good. Jack had a couple of wobble moments, he's quite sensitive and isn't keen on being the centre of attention (so like his mummy) but he had a great day. Some friends came round after the party and we had a huge Chinese, boys didn't get to bed till 10 but were still up early this morning  There are some pics of Jack and the party on my Facebook (we took hardly any photos at all, too busy!). He started the party dressed as a Clone Trooper but soon got out of the outfit to show his Vader t-shirt. My DS2 had an Ar-Too t-shirt, he looked adorable
PLM, your baby story is wonderfully written Mel, sad, funny, happy everything. Motherhood isn't something I ever wanted when I was younger but met OH and he said he wanted kids so I sort of got dragged along. I got pregnant really quickly and was felt terrified about giving birth for 9 months. I constantly watched birth programmes on Discovery Health and read gory stories, I too was obsessed. Jack was 5 days late but I've never been so calm as when in labour. I wasn't scared at all, it hurt like hell but I didn't have any pain relief and was so thrilled when I saw him and got to hold him. I immediately felt like his mum. Thomas' birth was easier in that labour was 2 hours from start to finish. I had brilliant midwives both times, best health professionals I've ever come into contact with in a professional capacity.
Sorry ramble, ramble, ramble. I'm so thrilled for you scatty and am so looking forward to sharing your journey
Off to see my mum today, and my nan as she's come to stay at mum & dad's for a few days. Coming back for dinner - OH is cooking, need to stop off somewhere to buy what he's going to cook
Mhagster - thrilled your OH is home and you get to shop on your own - enjoy it
Shelley - sometimes men don't know when enough is enough do they
Have a great day everyone :j:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
I'm going to mum's church today - it's a very close knit church - as I said before jaws will drop when I walk in - but well it's mothers day so I'm doing it for her, hope dd will sit for an hour!!??0

I'm quite positive I did say less labour stories didn't I? Or did everyone read that as 'more'?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Only joking they were very nice stories, I'm not completely terrified, I just think the less I know the better. As for birthing partners OH's determined it will be him, but as he faints at blood from a cut finger, I think he'll end up in the bed next to me!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU MUMMIES AND MUMMIES TO BE THERE!!!
I need a favour! I don't have the poem to write in the front of the journal jar book and can't find it! Does anyone have it?? I LOVE leaving things til the last minute!!!

Happy Mothers Day
:lovethoug:heartpuls :lovethoug:heartpuls :lovethougI have woke up this morning with a stinking cold  Grr!!
This will be the first mothers day I haven't seen my mom so it will be a little bit sad. Last year I did so much running around to everyone that I promised this year i'd stay home with my kids.
Scattymam I just wanted to say I am thinking of you today x Your stories have made me greatful for my own mom instead of taking her for granted. I hope you have such a wonderful day with your family xx
Rainmac I felt like I was reading my own story but in a much more efficient, condensed way :rotfl: Sounds like you had very much the same feelings and consequently the same birth as me.. I was also so unsure but felt completely like a mom the moment I held Logan. Makes me so broody LOL are you going to have any more? This thread is very fertileI have got to check out your beautiful blog today.. haven't been on there for ages!!
Mhagster Hope you get all your bargains today.. I know you love to mooch on a sunday! I am so glad you got your husband back, it must feel amazing to be a whole family again xx Have a lovely mothers day x
Jammy my story was supposed to be a non gory detailed but a positive view of birth to balance against the scarier ones. I'm sorry you didn't want to read it x
Shelley Sounds like a sweet mothers day already.. waking up with your little oneI think you should name the dolls after your husband and kids :rotfl:
You know.. last night I said to myself.. I have this weird feeling Jade will die tomorrow and I got a little bit tearful thinking about her little boys always having it as a reminder. I hope they are well cared for and live a stable life. I was never a great fan of Jades and didn't have much interest but when I read she had died this morning it actually made me cry. At least she is in peace now.
Oona not sure what your story is but I think your son has an easy life hahah Board payed for.. petrol payed for.. anyone would think his mom is soft :rotfl: I hope you get some kind of love and something nice on mothers day because you are wonderful xx:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
PLM - I am thankful for the nice story as I said in my post and I was only kidding about not wanting more stories. I always love reading your posts so dont feel like I dont
I feel bad for Jade and her boys and their family. It is like a double heart ache to die todayPoor kids are so young
Well the journal 'jar' went down a treat with Mum as did her other presents, on the front page, I gave her an example of what to do and wrote "10 things I love about you" and wrote...10 things I love about her in them, she loved it !Thanks for your help with things you guys!
Edit: we don't go out on Mothers Day as a rule, so we will be having a normal day and possibly making the boys watch Mamma MIa tonight after we have been to the hospital!

I was driving back from my go it alone to Asda ,have a sneaky cooked breakfast while I'm there trip, and heard about jade on the radio. I had a wee cry, regardless of what you think of her she was only 27 and it's horrific that someone so young has died at that age and left 2 wee boys. My 9 year old said, she'll be in a better place now.
Jammy: My husband did actually faint once whilst i was in hospital, doctor hit an artery instead of a vein and blood started gushing out of venflon, he said bye I'll see you later, I'm lying there feeling sooooo ill and off he went. THUD! He was flat out on the floor of the corridor.......all I could think of were his new glasses, never mind him!! They were okay thank goodness....so was he after a cup of tea, while I lay there attached to a drip!!0
