Thanks rusty - that's the sort of thing I need - not sure about the so either do you think it still flows without it?

First poem I've wrote since school probably!!!

I thought it was fine without the so ... I read it to OH he said it was fine with the so :o

Very beautiful though, I hate picking at peoples work when they ask as I feel very rude :rotfl:

Can you print off your posts about the dangerous sides of it for her to read ;) she will appreciate it even more knowing the denagers you encountered :rotfl:

no, as I said I need it - it's to be submitted with an assignment about bereavement that has to then be submitted to a website/magazine so I need to make sure it sounds ok.

I think I like it better without the so as well. But I do really like it. Well done!

Jamtart - are you sure you don't have glass in your eye? I'm worried about you now!

My challenge for today ... I'm not sure actually. I'm at a conference in a town 4 hours from home, and there is nothing I really care about today and my hotel is also far away. I could work in the hotel and not worry about going into the conference, or else I could go and not waste the time away from home. But I also do not feel well. Hmmm.

Scattymam1 - Loved your poem - I think it works better without 'So' but I didn't think it was so bad with it! Perhaps it's an accent thing - I'm Lancashire.
Sorry to hear of your accident jamtart6 - sounds like the sort of thing that happens to me!

Right don't want to depress anyone - but I thought you would all give me an honest opinion. I wrote this poem - does it sound right, is there any part you think sounds odd or doesn't rhyme.
    It's for an assignment...

    Mam, I miss you,
    and as it's mothers day,
I wish that I could buy you gifts,
and be with you some way.

It doesn't seem quite right or fair,
    not to celebrate,
    just because you passed away,
why must my love so wait.

So I choose to honour you,
in every way I know how,
    on this special mothers day,
made all the more poignant now.

    So flowers I'll still buy,
I'll remember you the whole day through,
I'll shower MY child with love this day,
and hope this pays homage to you.

    ?????

That is absolutely beautiful, I had tears, its from the heart and its wonderful xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    I can't go home :(

Tomorrow I have to present, and I'm on a panel with some Very Important People. I looked at train tickets for tomorrow evening, and the single tickets cost more than my original return did, and more than the saving that would be made by my skipping the third night in the hotel.

I'm staying in the hotel today - I did try to make it to the conference, but got completely confused and lost so came back to sit still and do some work here instead.
