I hate ironing - made worse by working in a dry cleaners for 2 years - esp when people would bring in 20 mens shirts to be laundered and ironed.

Thou upside - so funny when there was special offers, what people would drag out of their wardrobe - remember one suit had a ticket from the 1970s in it.
Another customer - this couple came in together, I would say they were in their 50s, very posh, the wife dragged a pile of clothes and wanted her husbands jacket to make the lot up, he iff and ared, she would had none of it - that jck was going in - he took it off, a few things out of the pocket, course we had to check all pockets when the customer was bringing the clothes in, incase they'd left money, or pockets ripped etc, went in his pocket and pulled out a "packet of 3 - which had been opened" - his face said it all, she dragged him out shouting and screaming, they were last seen being escorted off the premises by the security guard - they never came back for their clothes!! xx

:rotfl::rotfl: thats really funny! You have a knack for telling stories mum2one!:rotfl:

The month of June when I was 26...........oh wise one is back!.........I had just given birth to the grumpy son, of course we didn't know that then.........he was such a happy boy!(he still is really) ,it was a hot summer! Got my terry nappies dried in no time.......see I was mse then!

As one approaching her very(oh....very) late 30's........live your life for today, look forward not back. We can't change the past, only learn from it! Be yourself and love yourself for who you are..........ok lecture over!

I still sometimes feel 17 in my mind but would I go back to then.........no way, although the music was great in ......wait for it 1986.......so last century!!

have a good day, whatever age you are and however many chins you have !! x

Morning ladies - quick one today as I'm working afternoons and I may catch some more sneaky zzz's after the boys go to school. Think i deserve it after all my cleaning yesterday :D

Honestly don't worry about your age just enjoy each day as I found from the age of 24 till now ( 35 this year) has really flown. I don't feel my age at all but then age is only a number!! I did have an issue hitting 30 though for some strange reason I cried all day the day before :o

Pinkladymel - you are not big at all !!! You look lovely x

Mum2one - your little stories make me laugh. That showdown in the dry cleaners must have been hilarious x

You lot are really making me feel old - 40 this year  Mhagster you are so right about living for now, I do get all nostalgic though when I hear some 80's music, think its because it sort of takes me back to when I was so much more carefree (pre kids, bills etc.)...ahh and my love of Simon Le bon :happylove ...

Got myself an xcut guillotine in the end at the range (and a few other bits) so am going to have a play with it tonight, am hoping it will help me with my paper cutting skills...

PLM your layout looks fab, am off in a mo to look at your blog and I think the pic of you is really beautiful...

Rusty...am off to check out your blog too..

On a thrify gifty note, it was my neighbours birthday yesterday (they are becoming good friends and had bought for dh birthday so a pressie was required) I used a lovely no7 bath creme and body wash that I had it, I was dissapointed though as I wanted to make a card, but hadn't got round to it - however I still have loads of Phoenix cards left (from one of my ventures) so got one from there so no spend sort of - the boots stuff was bought to use vouchers and get points and I had used cashback funds....

    Happy Monday all xxx

DEfinately fun trying ;) I love doing things like that, then I sit and moan for ages if they are cancelled :rotfl:

Glad I didn't offend you, I really thought I had!I didn't think you were old on the pics :rotfl: I thought you were about 28 but mainly cause you are so mature and grown up (not in a bad way) Oh goodness someone give me a spade! ... yours is in June aswell? I bet I am older?? ... there is only a slight chance you could slip in on one of the 5 days before mine .... Mine is June 6th :D when is yours??

Morning ladies, hope everyone is ok, I am so far having a really can't be bothered day! I am desperate to make up pressies for mums for mothers day but can't do any of it til my squeezy thing arrives! I hope that is today but who knows!!!

I keep looking on ebay at prima flowers, do you have to use a brad with these?? I have never bought flowers or brads so completely unsure about anything like that!

Last night I put my details down for the pre sales for Michael Jackson's concert in the O2 - haven't got a chance of tickets but worth a shot.

Dont worry Mel, I think you look younger than me & I am 28.
Found a poem yesterday thats going in my folder, its how I'd LIKE to look at birthdays:

    Her Souvenirs
    Author: Steven Mossburg

    She had another birthday
And she sat before the mirror
    She contemplated her gray hair
    Her wrinkles and her years

But she didn't need to fret
    And she really shouldn't fear
Cause her gray hairs are memories
    Her wrinkles are souvenirs

Each strand of silver shows a worry
    That never came to pass
Each deep line upon her face
    Is there because she laughed

There have been times of trouble
And there have been days of stress
But life has really been quite good
    For she's been truly blest

    And so it's Happy Birthday
    She is so very dear
For her gray hairs are memories
    And her wrinkles are souvenirs.

I thought it was lovely when I found it.

Thanks for the recipe Mum2one, wonder if I could substitute coconut with powdered almond or something, not keen on coconuts. Shall cut & paste the recipe & grab the ingredients tomorrow.

Thank you Jamtart - sorry I'm not as crafty at the mo - did make a nappy cake last night though!! Oh and easter hat preparations are under way lol :D
Daren't take up scrapbooking or card making as I wouldn't have enough hrs in the day with work and everything else.
Trying to be as thrifty as poss though :D
