it asked for phone number and then login name and when i put that in it says failed

i have logged back in to router and i have found 3 host names in static addresses and then 3 dynamic addresses which is mine and my sons. the static addresses belong to friends of mine but i dont think they need to be there do they???????

If you're an o2 customer, o2. I think you can get em cheap if you just buy a payg sim and top it up a couple of times.

AOL will give you a free new modem if you threaten to leave, might mean a new 12 month contract but it doesnt sound like your leaving them anyway, new modem = new settings= problem solved.......make them work for there money
