gnb - i gave up processed food last year, everything homemade, much harder that i thought but i did it unlike when i've previously gave up chocolate. This year our church is encouraging us to 'start' something in lent that will make a difference and carry on after lent - a few consciences have been pricked about making token efforts. still haven't decided what to do yet myself, any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks for the sugggestions about what to do with the knives - dh is taking them to the local recycling site now and if they won't take them i'll contact police tomorrow.
hugs

morning all
Haven't been up long this morning and am still in my pjs watching last week's casualty. We're going out for lunch at 12.30 and so flying will take place after that! I have caught up with the clothes washing though and sorted the meal plan.
Off to catch up with the thread and make myself a list.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Morning all :hello:
Okay, who has recharged my batteries? I've woken up for the third time today (5am woke up and went back to sleep, 6.15am woke up wide awake, got washed started to get dressed but sat down on the bed and fell asleep again:rotfl: Finally woke up properly at 10.15am :rotfl:) with so much energy I think I could beat the Road Runner in the 100m sprint

MOJT - This waste/money thing is about not going out and spending money unless you HAVE to on food, and not wasting food. I've a terrible habit of going out for a say a loaf of bread and coming back with 2 or 3 carrier bags of shopping, usually none of which is on sale or reducedSo much so I overspent by £80 last month on the food budget. The waste part is all about not over buying so much you end up throwing things out. This is something I'm bad at as well. On Friday I cleared out the fridge and ended up throwing out loads of food that had gone icky
Waste of food and money! So we're going to make a concerted effort to reform our habits... and we will make a difference
I for one have been out and bought a pack of Asda readymade puff pastry so I can make pasties for DD who has suddenly decided she'd rather have them than sausage rolls from Greggs
I'm not making a very good start though - I've got to chuck some wine away, not much I hasten to add.Its been sat in the fridge since Thursday night and I've just not bothered to drink it and I'm unlikely too over the next few days so out it goes...I've got 3 new bottles in the cupboard anyway waiting for the weekend
:o
Right, I've made a start on the list thats left - and I've put away 3 baskets of homeless stuffJust finishing off the one thats full of downstairs stuff.

Then its going to be HHS for me...I've done NONE of my NVQ work :eek:
Spent : Nothing
Thrown away : About a glass of wine
:wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 - Get everything ready for school/work on Monday - Need to do with DD when she gets home

regarding lent - one year I gave up shopping! I had always gone out on my days off and bought clothes, cds, dvds etc as I was just in the habit of doing so. I gave up shopping for the lent and it literally changed my life. I know that sounds ridiculous but I've never gone back to buying unnecessary stuff.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
