  • I am having a real MS valentines. We dont normally bother ..but after managing a very cheap few treats - thought I would.

I have made hubby a small hamper which includes playboy socks, CK undies, a small teddy, "Don'ts for Husbands" book, wispa gold, FCUK shower gel and face cream. All of these were either freebies, or from mystery shops or reduced/sale items.

I have also got steak for tea tomorrow - which is half price at Somerfield - and they have vouchers which are " spend £10 on meat - get £2 off".

I have a mystery shop to do at a supermarket tomorrow - so can get the veggies and pudding for tea tomorrow.

Plus bought a daily star today and they had a voucher for a free dvd rental and bag of sweets from blockbuster.

And managed to bag one of the champagne set from asda that have been bar-coded wrong and come up at £3 instead of £12!!

    Quite pleased with myself!!!

    Just hope I get a card & pressie back....:rotfl:

Oh doesn't do valentines so I have nothing (not that I would expect anything!)

However today is valentines day for us as OH works all week away and drives north on the sunday night, I normally work sat nights but I have booked it off, I have made Keylime pie, we are having lamb balti with lots of other little bits and I have given him a few of his pressies already. I got him a Haynes jigsaw, some haynes coasters, a haynes keyring, a fatboy travel mug. Still have his favourite red wine to give him, and I made a bottle hanger and put in a Game gift card, these will be on the table when we sit down to eat :D

  • I have always bought big pressys for valentines, last year booked a hot air balloon flight, previous year got him a new bass guitar in red the colour of love!! Also every year a valentines mug, after the big pressies have been forgotten the mugs are always there so this year we bought each other a special mug and I made heart shaped shortbread and heart shaped choccies. We both shopped for special ingrediants to make lovely food today - had pancakes, fruit, icecream, syrup for brekkie and for tea I have made heartshaped roasted veg and goats cheese tarts and heart shaped fruit tarts using up the left over fruit from brekky. We may well have a glass of wine too.
I did also get some beautiful roses despite us agreeing just to buy a mug, but even so they are lovely and I am very lucky. Am having a lovely money saving valentines day today hope everyone else is too..

Aw Rusty, that's good to hear :)

I got a little basket with a small teddy, a little box of chocs and a mini bottle of rose in :) OH said he tried to find a mini bottle of cider to go in there but he couldn't :D And it was all wrapped up in cellophane with a big bow which he did himself, so I'm pretty impressed!

He got me some really cute little 'Hello Kitty' bits & wrote me a poem in the card, loved it  We always stick to a spending limit of no more than £5 (including the card) makes it fun & its amazing what you can get for your money if you put your mind to it :jIts our 6th Wedding Anniversary next Sunday & we do the same for that, £5 limit :) & we go by the theam of the year, this year is 'Sweet' so its a nice easy one :D It will be his 30th birthday next sunday also so its a weekend of celebrations. x
