If you notify the CSA of the change, then they will do a new assessment from that date, so as soon as you become unemployed then you will have a different assessment, so in short, provided you notify them there will be no need for arrears at all. The point is that it won't change unless you tell them - the onus is on you to notify them if you want it done.

Hi. Ive called the csa on friday regarding my arrears and they advised it has all has been paid off. Then they said on the computer that i had a partial refund which was paid in Jan. i said i never received anything. i Rang them today and they and said they paid it in error to the PWC in Jan:rotfl: I dont why im laughing as i was fuming with them in november for hitting my work with a DEO, and this was the first time ive dealt with the CSA in 7 years as always had a private agreement with ex.

Anyway, they said they will get the money back of the PWC( I said no chance of that happening as she would have spent it). Its with their referals team as i want the DEO lifted from my work as no arrears. they also said they will reduce my maintenence if they dont get money back from ex.

My question is apart from their incompetence is they should now remove the DEO(unless you can think of any reason for them to keep it) and pay back any arrears i have accrued since January and the refund with INTEREST. how long will this take in your experience?

    Thanks

They will not remove the DEO if you have ongoing payments that you have to make.

I have no experience of DEO's in practice I'm afraid - I can only tell you what they SHOULD be doing!! My ex was self employed and so no DEOs for me!

So you think if im paying my normal maintenance they will keep the DEO, they have no grounds now i havent any excess to pay surely? If they dont remove it, how am to stop himself from losing it!

The DEO was implemented as you were deemed non-compliant by the csa. Your only chances of getting it removed is if you can prove you were compliant and it had been incorrectly served.

What constitutes non-compliance is anyones guess sometimes!

I have never heard of a DEO being lifted, even after arrears have been paid up. NACSA have stated that in their experience it is virtually impossible to get one removed.

The fact that the new legislation makes a DEO the primary collection method only reinforces this.

The assumption is all NRP's are not prepared to pay for their children. Disgusting IMO.

In my case compliance mean refusing to pay areas you do not owe and putting the phone down on the extremely rude arrears guy.
I actually won that claim against arrears (an error on their part - shocker).
But the DEO remained and they refused to take it off.

Oh and BTW, i wont be posting on CSA matters again.
Its bad enough when they call you up and tell you you can make payments because your credit card limit is £x amount but when they're lurking around the forum...just creepy.
I'm not giving the enemy any more information.

As far as im concered you are part of the problem and if any one else wants "help" i suggest you visit nacsa (and no i'm nothing to do with them but i am a member).

If you havent had the decency to quit your job out of shame i dont want to know you. I'm sure you've got it figured out in your head but know this, you are just a "conduit for misery"....

as for the rest, good luck folks...

Well 10 posts in 2007, one in Jan 09, then just this one in the csa forum.

Hopefully you will do the same with your other usernames too, instead of stalking me with your usual false accusations.
