  • Is calling the CSA "Gestapo" in every post you make about them helpful?
As an aside, I used to call them "little elves" but it never really caught on and someone got very irate about it so I changed to gestapo. I've noticed a few people doing the same so it must have struck a chord. This is the first comment I've noticed on the word gestapo.

I'm not poorly educated, nor was I incompetent, or rude. I was however unsupported by management and told to do things which were absolutely pointless just to prove that we had made 'interventions' rather than go for outcomes!!!!!

You know I love you dearly. :p . And I've just noticed that I missed the words "nearly all" from the middle of my peroration. See, I didn't mean you after all :D

That is absolutely not true. The csa are trying to get the money to the child.

They don't try very hard. Sorry, yes they do try - try to make a meal out of a simple task and take months to do it whilst all along doing everything they can to encourage non-compliance (even after schedules finally get produced).

My quote of the day of a csa officer is "it doesn't matter when the assessment is done as arrears are accruing and will be collected anyway".

If you have arrears they will take a vol lump sum payment and then the arrears is stretched over two years.

That's changed. Arrears are now collected in the quickest time possible - 40% DEO applies if not paid in full on demand.

I am a nrp (the mother) and pay on time and if you respect the csa caseworker they should respect you. that is the way they are trained, to keep calm, and to reclaim the debt owed to the child.

You may get the odd caseworker who handles the call incorrectly by raising their voice etc, but I have always found my caseworker very helpful and polite. Yes you get mistakes but as long as you are assertive and helpful to them they will help you too.

I have always started with respect for the caseworker, sadly you cannot respect some-one who repeatedly gives false promises (I've had a fair few of those from different people), although I do always remain polite and do not shout etc.

A few things to clear up before I update you.
1 Arrears acrued because ex refused to give me receipt so I didnt pay her. you dont just forget to pay!
2 Regardless of how nice I am (always be polite to them) some of them just refuse to help
in any way and in fact yesterday the guy i spoke to was
intimidating me by saying he would be putting in a complaint and speaking in an aggressive tone.
3 The arrears schedule has been set by them every time and never been open to negotiation despite me asking nicely and even begging.
4 yes my case has gone complex but they send it back saying its not so the team then sends it back to them sayin it is and the cycle goes on.
5 I have now been told the case is 'technically stuck' and I'll have to wait for them to 'fix' it before we can continue any dialogue.
6 FALSE PROMISES. I am forever being told 'I'll call you back' but it is extremely rare for it to happen to me.
So case workers eh? well as far as I'm concerned you are all horrible people who think you are helping the children of separated families, but you do not realise the consequences of your actions by not helping me when i implore you to.
So if you work for the CSA then get off my thread I HATE YOU ALL for the pain and suffering you cause myself and other families that try to get on and rebuild a new life. How can you sleep at night? You should be ashamed of yourselves.
I wrote a letter 3 weeks ago and have had no reply. I called to see what was hapening but got nowhere.
Last month my payment which should be £268.66 + £79 arrears (of which I now have a £4000 overpayment to them) rose to £716.05 and they took the same again from my wages today.
My monthly liabillity is £268.66 and since November 2006 I have paid a total of £16103.42. Take off my liabillity for kids and you're left with £8580.94 from this take away the £4000 arrears I owed. No one I speak to will help at least they say 'i'm sorry but I can't help you at this time'
The guy I spoke to yesterday refused to even let me speak to a team leader or line manager because he said 'i can't let you do that'

This makes me mad.I experienced this attitude from a number of staff.

Hope you have the guy's name.

Contact MP's office today and speak to their assistant. Explain what is happening. name and shame the idiot and say you wish to put in a written complaint via MP about this person and ask for a complete account breakdown. Get them to phone the Parliamentary hotline and that person should phone you back and provide you with a direct contact phone number, so your case can be looked at sympathetically.
