Contacted the link, said I had a problem with a phone I had just received - didn;t give name or ref number and the tubby said "is it a 6680" - I said YES and he said, right, we will cancel the contract then.

No offer of a repair or replacement - Cancel only

Why don't you ring '3' and ask them to repair it? "jbrad" did this and has since received his back, working perfectly.

I could try this but they wouldn't hear me

Didn't know this was an option - The Link cancelled the contract there and then.

Mind you I still have the phone in my possession because the DHL labels haven't yet arrived....

I decided to get 3 of these as my dad and brother were looking for new contract too. Got 2 from The Link (they'll only pay cashback for 2 at any address) and they ran out.

Carphone Warehouse offered to price match it at £70 using the form on their website so got 1 from there.

So you can still get it for £70 from Carphone warehouse using the Price Match form.

I thought carphone warehouse only price-match phones that they actually sell. I didn't think they still sold this phone, as I haven't seen it on their website for while now! Have you actually received one from them yet??

Yes, we got the 6680 from Carphone Warehouse yesterday, (wednesday) very good to say we ordered on Monday. Came as new with all accessories and a 128MB card... 2 we recieved from The Link came complete but only had 64MB cards.

One of my cousins also ordered same deal on Monday from Carphone Warehouse as The Link had run out and they received theres on Wednesday too.

Unrelated i know, but does anybody elses say 'note: active diverts' every time you make a call. Just plain annoying. This happening with anybody elses? Anyone know how to stop it?

They received all the relevant info from me on the 2nd of this month but I hadn't heard anything either. So I rang them on the number on the cashback form and they said they processed it and sent my cheque out on the 18th and I should receive it in the next 2 weeks.
