I don't change my DD's PJs every night, its more like maybe once every three days. And she wears pants under her pjs, partly because she wears nighties and they tend to roll up (theres nothing like going upstairs to see your daughter has kicked all the blankets off and is well and truly "Freeing her foof"!!) and also because I did try to get her not to wear pants one night but she refused, even when I explained about the "whole air getting to it thing".
Me, I tend to change my PJs when they get smelly, I'm not especially bothered because no one sees me in them anyway! But I don't tend to wear pants under them, sometimes I do. I don't really tend to think or worry about these things!!!0 -
I really don't understand why you'd want to do that!!! Crazyness!!
Jxx
I read something about ironing knickers once......it was/is recommended simply because we all wash at lower temperatures these days and certain bacteria/germs can remain in the fabric. The best way to get shot of them is a once over with a hot iron, the iron temp is supposed to deal with any lurking nasties.
I have to say, I iron ours and I do occasionally get a whiff when I iron my son's boxers. Now if the wash had got them completely clean....there would be nothing to smell, so I do think there might be something in this.
I now wash all our undies in a higher temp wash and if they all fade and lose their colour....so be it. :rotfl:
We all wear clean pj's and nighties every night here btw. Personally I dont feel happy about putting something on that I had probably sweated in the night before.Herman - MP for all!0 -

My thoughts exactly. However I do have to wear a bedtime bra or whatever they are called to bed as I still feed the baby.

Me too! I've had quite a few people tell me they don't iron, and whilst I smile and nod politely and say I'd never have guessed, internally I'm screaming "I know you don't, I'm not blind!"
Mind you I like quite tailored and smart clothes, and there's no way on earth that I could get away without ironing those, and OH works in an office, so same with him. I look like I've slept under a hedge if I wear jeans and a sweatshirt or fleece, so maybe if I worse stuff like that it wouldn't make much difference whether they were ironed or not!
My Dh is a consultant in the NHS so no, not a sweatshirt and a fleece family!!:D
I think the thing is, yes definitely when you first put on a well shaken vs. well ironed shirt you can tell the difference but within a couple of hours , sitting, walking standing etc. all the creases are back in.
My Dh has a 90 minute commute to work every day so I would begrudge ironing knowing that he would have creases from driving by the time he got to work! I really dont see any difference between the way our clothes look and those of ironers but we all have different standards or perhaps perspectives!?
If dh wants a shirt which hasnt faired well after a wash and is a bit too creased he'll iron it, but it is a very rare occurance!
I sometimes like the idea of freshly ironed stuff for all my family but with me and dh working and 4 children too I just have to prioritise and ironing is low down on the list!
No offence to all you ironers out there though!0 -
I used to iron little PJs as I just loved ironing dinky little things.
Now it's stretchy vest tops which don't need ironing and jersey bottom which also don't need ironing if hung properly on line, tumble tried or put folded on the radiator. Clean ones every few days. Clean pants on underneath every night changed to clean one in the morning.
Next we will be discussing socks. Who is going to own upto wearing the same socks for more than one day?:p~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
