Me too! I've had quite a few people tell me they don't iron, and whilst I smile and nod politely and say I'd never have guessed, internally I'm screaming "I know you don't, I'm not blind!"

Mind you I like quite tailored and smart clothes, and there's no way on earth that I could get away without ironing those, and OH works in an office, so same with him. I look like I've slept under a hedge if I wear jeans and a sweatshirt or fleece, so maybe if I worse stuff like that it wouldn't make much difference whether they were ironed or not!

I cannot usually tell. Yes, you can with some people but I bet you'd be surprised how many don't iron! I know I'm often surprised when it comes out in conversation.

It depends how much care is taken with the washing and drying imo.

And, yes, I guess it does depend on the type of clothing to an extent. Decent tailored clothing tends to be better than some clothing though, oddly enough, as it holds it's shape.

It is possible to avoid ironing and still have pride in your appearance. We aren't all slobs! :D

I get the feeling that most people here have younger children than me. Mine are both teens, DS being the eldest at 16.

Both of mine wear clean PJ's every night, always have :o My mum thinks I 'make a rod for my own back' :rotfl:
I've got 4 kids - 2 at 16yrs, 1 at 14yrs & a 10yr old and they all have clean pj's/nighties every night. Only the eldest is a girl & the boys can get whiffy with all the hormones etc so I also insist on bathing/showering daily too ;) I only iron shirts & things that look awful - I certainly don't iron all the kids stuff, by the time its been in their wardrobes or drawers you'd never know anyway

Why on earth would anyone iron pyjamas? That's bonkers. Who is going to see the children in them? They're only going to wear them to bed. What a waste of time and electricity. My two get clean pj's ever few days, again dependent on spills at breakfast time and also sometimes DS is a bit sloppy when he has a wee (he's only 3 ) so needs clean ones. And yes they wear pants and knickers under their pj's. As do I. Cleaner and more comfy imo.

My two boys (6 and 12) change their pjs 2/3 times a week and wear pants underneath. I wouldn't dream of ironing nightwear. I try to iron as little as possible and tumble most things to get creases out. The only thing I wear that needs ironing is a jumper with a fake shirt panel in it and it seems such a waste to get the iron out to do just that little bit of cotton, so I cheat and use my hair straighteners on it instead - it works just as well and I can do it at the same time as my hair!!;)

DD's wear clean PJ's when needed usually every other day, although the youngest, 2 next month, often has new every day as she is messy with her breakfast. Eldest, age 4, usually goes without pants but sometimes wants to wear them.

I try to iron as little as possible & as such would not iron any underwear, nightwear also don't do bedding either.

DD is only 5 and as such her foof will be under wraps for quite a while - about another 25 years if I've got anything to do with it!!!!

I thought it was unhealthy to cover it with pants 24/7
