Worth checking out the thread with poll for these kind of products:

Seems almost 45% of people thought they didn't work. But the price is much cheaper than some of the crazy prices mentioned in that thread, so if you were going to get them anyway... :)

My friend swears by the lakeland ones in conjunction with a stain stick, but personally I am skeptical. However don't lakeland have a no quibble guarantee if you are unhappy with a product? Might be a way of trying them out.
  • Thanks, which one is it , the twin pack one or the multi pack one? i will pop in tomorrow

  • after a lot of research on the net it seemed the best ones to buy were the ecozone balls. I brought some of the ecozone balls from ethical superstore a couple of weeks ago. The 1000 wash pack cost £27 inc postage so far cheaper than using washing powder and fab conditioner. I brought them mainly because I have allergies. I used them for the first time a couple of days ago and they are great, the clothes smell clean and they took out any dirt on the fabric :D . I will definatly continue to use them.
  • I had some of ***these*** just after Christmas, it is a twin pack and contains three balls and three refills plus a stain stick in each box, so a total of 1200 washes for £14.97. No problems so far, (I have been warned about smelly washing after a while), but any dirt needs to be pre treated, as has already been mentioned.
  • Decided to go for this today, at the price we figured it was worth the experiemnt. My wife has just washed our 2 teenaged son's 'jeans pile' and used them with NO added cleaning agents/conditioners etc. Now, I must stress my wife is not easily pleased, LOL, and is never swayed by hyperbole etc. In other words, she's just the type of person to test stuff like this. Our washing machine doesn't have the option to automatically skip the rinse function so my wife did it manually (she's nothing if not through, lol). Result? SHE'S IMPRESSED! Whilst the clothes don't smell of anything, she made the point they don't smell 'dirty' either and that 'nice' smell you get with conditioner is actually synthetic anyway.

Early days but first impressions are favourable.

Loads in my Aldi - though they are the mini ones and only two in a box (I'm using three larger ones at the mo). Still a good buy though and I've got them as back up. They are refillable and also come with the stain stick like the big ones.

I don't skip the rinse function I just use the normal programmes right the way through and they've been fine!

Also bought the large ironing board with plug - mucho impressed!

I've decided to go back tomorrow morning for the steam generator iron, the ironing board AND the 'ironing chair' I don't half look after SWMBO. :rotfl:
