Have to say, I'm curious about how effective (and cost-effective they are too). Found this on the Lakeland site (priced at £9.75 there) exactly the same ones.
"Looking like a planet, Ecoballs are the new star of the greener laundry scene. We really like the fact they are refillable, with a sponge ring to reduce rattling in your washing machine. You can also choose to wash with one or two Ecoballs at once, depending on the size and soiling of your laundry load.
    There’s more:
    • this starter pack gives up to 150 washes – that’s less than 7p per wash
    • the scientific formula reaches deep into textile fibres, lifting away dirt without fading colours or damaging delicates, and leaving no residue
    • Ecoballs soften clothes even in hard water, so no conditioner is necessary and you can skip the rinse cycle, saving money and water
    • ideal for sensitive skin and baby clothes, they are biodegradable, hypoallergenic and free from toxic chemicals."

They are as effective as washing powder

I got some for Xmas as my Mum has been using them for months. Neither of us have found a problem with them
  • excellent I will be at aldi on sunday then to buy a set (or maybe two).

  • To be fair i think they are cheaper on the shopping channels bid-up.tv and their sister channels.

even with the P&P you get something like 900 washes as they give you 3 packs of refills too.

My parents have just spent a fortune on some of these, the refills and the stain remover sticks from some brochure that came through the door. I daren't tell them about these, but I might get some myself
  • They've missed a trick here - should have had 'em on sale tomorrow in time for Valentine's...

I've used the original wash balls for over 12 years. They are great for everyday cleaning but if things are a bit dirtier you need the stain stick. One of the good things is the colour does not disappear from your clothes.
